In 2009, College of the Ozarks began the Patriotic Education Travel Program, designed to provide once-in-a-lifetime experiences for students and Veterans from World War II, the Cold War, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. The program pairs College of the Ozarks students with Veterans, taking them back to the battlefields where they served. This Program honors Veterans and helps to educate the younger generation, instilling an appreciation for the sacrifices of American servicemen and women.
At College of the Ozarks, we host many activities and events to demonstrate our strong patriotic values. Some of these events include: Honor America, September 11 Remembrance, Veterans Week, Railway to Heaven and The Four Generals of Hard Work U.
College of the Ozarks Patriotic Scholarships: Patriotic Scholarships covering full room and board are provided on a competitive basis to students who contract with the Army National Guard through the College’s Bobcat GOLD program.
College of the Ozarks provides an opportunity for deserving C of O students to apply for a $5,000 scholarship to begin, or advance, their aviation flight training. This scholarship is established to honor the distinguished military aviation career of General Terrence R. Dake, a C of O alumnus and trustee.
The financial aid office has assembled a list of military and Veterans scholarship resources.
The Assistant Registrar at the College serves as a liaison to assist students who are Veterans with Veterans benefits.
