College of the Ozarks hosts Homecoming 2022: Continuing Our Legacy

POINT LOOKOUT, MO. ­College of the Ozarks will host the Homecoming for 2022, themed Continuing Our Legacy, Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 3-6. Homecoming weekend will consist of several events for each day such as  the Miss Hard Work U. Coronation, Alumni Golf Game, a Celebration Picnic, Alumni Breakfast, and a C of O Homecoming Parade.

“We are thrilled to welcome alumni back to campus for Homecoming 2022: Continuing Our Legacy,” said Angela Williamson, director of alumni affairs. “Homecoming is a time-honored tradition for alumni, and we are looking forward to a weekend of reconnecting with friends and classmates. This is an especially exciting year because it is the first C of O Homecoming for our new president, Dr. Brad Johnson, and his family.”

The entire weekend of events for Homecoming 2022 will be centered around the idea of Continuing Our Legacy of generations of graduates from College of the Ozarks. The event welcomes alumni to return to the College to celebrate their legacy as part of the history of the institution. The alumni will participate in many different events alongside current students.

Friday, Nov. 4

  • 8 a.m. — 5 p.m. Alumni Registration, Alumni & Archives Center Lawn
  • 10 a.m. Alumni Golf Game, Pointe Royale
  • 4 p.m. Alumni Council Meeting & Dinner, Henry R. Herold Room, The Keeter Center

      • The Alumni Association Annual Meeting will immediately follow the breakfast at 9:00 a.m.

Student events

The candidates for Miss Hard Work U. participated in a community service outreach at the end of September, packing and delivering meals for Elevate Branson. The top 10 candidates are continuing to fulfill requirements as part of the competition. They will submit an essay to determine who places in the top five. Following the scoring of the essays, Dean of Students Ryan Knight will announce the top five candidates. The top five will participate in interviews with a panel of judges. After each of the requirements are met, the C of O student body will vote for who will be crowned as Miss Hard Work U. 

The coronation ceremony for the title of Miss Hard Work U. will be held at the Jones auditorium at College of the Ozarks on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend. College of the Ozarks will announce the winners via press release following this event.
