College of the Ozarks President Dr. Brad Johnson and First Lady Laura Johnson recently joined Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson to discuss the College’s Christ-centered mission and its commitment to developing students through faith, work, service and leadership.

POINT LOOKOUT, MO — College of the Ozarks President Dr. Brad Johnson and First Lady Laura Johnson were recently featured on Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson, discussing the College’s mission to provide students with a Christ-centered education while preparing them for lives of purpose, service, and leadership.

The two-part interview, titled “Everyday Heroes Who Are Making a Difference at College of the Ozarks and Beyond,” features a conversation with Gary Bauer, former U.S. Secretary of Education and president of American Values, about the distinctive mission of College of the Ozarks and the role of faith, character, and service in higher education.

During the programs, the Johnsons discuss the College’s commitment to providing a Christ-centered education grounded in biblical truth, along with its Work Education Program and emphasis on developing students who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to their communities and the nation.

The conversation also explores the College’s commitment to American history and patriotism and its efforts to help students understand the freedoms and responsibilities associated with citizenship.

“College of the Ozarks is equipping students to shine the hope of Christ into our world. We believe our students can make a big difference, one by one,” Dr. Johnson said. “We want to teach our students how to steward their influence as future leaders who will take their seat at the table of influence and be salt and light in the world.”

Laura Johnson discussed the importance of creating an environment where students can grow in their faith and develop meaningful relationships with faculty, staff, and peers.

The interview comes as College of the Ozarks continues to celebrate its mission of providing students with an education that emphasizes Christian faith, work ethic, patriotism, and service. The College’s Work Education Program allows students to work in campus workstations as part of their education, helping them graduate without student loan debt.
