POINT LOOKOUT, MO — The College of the Ozarks Jones Theatre Company will present “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” as the fall play, Oct. 9 - 12, in the Jones Auditorium.

Evening performances will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Monday — October 9, 10, and 12 — at 7:30 p.m.  

An afternoon matinee will take place on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 2:30 p.m.

Ticket prices are as follows: adults, $15; senior citizens, $10; children (ages 18 and under) and non-College of the Ozarks students, $10. College of the Ozarks students, faculty, and staff will be admitted free with ID. Associates are free and associate guests are $5.

Play Synopsis:

Concord Theatricals describes the play as follows: "Brace yourselves for an awfully big adventure when the inept and accident-prone Cornley Drama Society sets out to present J.M. Barrie’s much-loved classic tale of Peter Pan, their most audacious production to date. Flying? Pyrotechnics? Sharp hooks? What ensues is two acts of hysterical disaster, battling technical hitches, flying mishaps, and cast disputes. But will they ever make it to Neverland? You’ll laugh; they’ll cry. Something so wrong has never been so right."

Josh Williams, assistant professor of theatre and director of the production, directs the play. He said one of the most entertaining aspects of the show is that the audience is watching a play within a play.

“This show is so much fun because the actors are playing actors who are trying to put on Peter Pan — and absolutely everything that can go wrong does go wrong,” Williams said. “It takes an incredible amount of precision to make the chaos work. Every prop, every entrance, every piece of scenery and every reaction has to happen at exactly the right moment. If something is supposed to fall, it has to fall. If something is supposed to go wrong, it has to go wrong in exactly the right way. There are so many details happening all at once, and when everything comes together, the result is hilarious.”
