The College of the Ozarks Chapel Choir, directed by Gregg Busch, will perform at the Polynesian Cultural Center, the USS Missouri, the First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu, and will conclude at the USS Arizona Memorial during their six-day tour of Hawaii, May 21-28.

POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — The College of the Ozarks Chapel Choir embarked on a six-day tour of Hawaii yesterday that will extend through May 28. They will perform a series of five performances across the island of Oahu.  

The choir will perform at the Polynesian Cultural Center, the USS Missouri, the First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu, and conclude at the USS Arizona Memorial. After returning to the mainland, they will perform at the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association National Reunion on May 30 in Kansas City, Missouri, and then return to campus.

“Wherever we have the honor to sing, we are sharing our ministry, as well as the legacy of the College,” said Gregg Busch, chapel choir director and assistant professor of music. “This is truly a unique opportunity for our students to experience the culture and witness firsthand the impact of the events of Pearl Harbor on our nation, as well as the ongoing significance of remembering this time in our history.”

“These students truly represent a broad background of our college, and it has been such a privilege preparing for this trip,” Busch said. “All of the individuals who have been a part of the planning of this trip, both in Hawaii and here on campus, have been so supportive. We are honored to be able to represent the College on this trip.”

The College of the Ozarks Chapel Choir is a non-auditioned choral ensemble with a primary objective of serving as worship leaders for the College’s chapel services.
