POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — College of the Ozarks will launch its new Rooted Families initiative with two special events featuring Dr. Tim Elmore, nationally recognized speaker, author, and expert in generational discipleship and youth development. The public is invited to attend on Tuesday, Sept. 23, with sessions at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Royal Oak Forum at The Keeter Center. Both events are free and open to the public.
Elmore has been featured on CNN’s “Headline News,” Fox Business, Newsmax, and “Fox & Friends.” A TEDx speaker and prolific blogger, he has written extensively on equipping children and adolescents to grow into mature, Christ-seeking adults. His message to caregivers—parents, grandparents, teachers, pastors, and mentors—offers both practical insight and biblical encouragement.
The launch of Rooted Families is designed to equip caregivers with resources for Christian formation from infancy through college. Developed by College of the Ozarks faculty and staff, these resources draw from years of experience guiding students in their spiritual and personal growth. Families will be able to access age-appropriate Christian formation kits beginning in mid-September by signing up on the Rooted Families website. Subscribers will also receive regular content to help them engage their children in faith development.
“Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52). The Rooted Families initiative is built on this model of growth, encouraging caregivers to walk faithfully with children as they learn to trust the Lord. In turn, caregivers are also invited to deepen their own relationship with Christ as they share God’s goodness with those they love.
“The mission of Rooted Families is to nurture parents and caregivers as they share their Christian faith and values with the children they love,” said Andrew Bolger, Dean of Mission Advancement. “We hope that families across the Ozarks benefit from the faith conversations Rooted Families offers.”
