College of the Ozarks senior Madelyn Sestak, a marketing major and chapter president of Young Women for America (YWA), proudly represented her college and community on a national stage during Inauguration Day in Washington, D.C., on January 20, 2025. Selected out of more than 300 YWA leaders nationwide, Sestak was invited to this historic event as a testament to her exceptional leadership, service, and faith.

Sestak’s invitation came through Concerned Women for America (CWA), the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization, which focuses on protecting Biblical principles and Constitutional values. She attended CWA’s Donor Celebration Dinner on January 19, where she was invited to speak alongside Penny Nance, CEO and President of CWA, and other leaders.

Recalling the experience, Sestak shared, “It was a privilege getting to look into the eyes of the men and women who have supported me financially and prayerfully, making all the work I’m doing possible. Being part of this historic moment and sharing how God has worked through our YWA chapter at College of the Ozarks was truly humbling.”

Sestak speaks at CWA dinner. Sestak addresses the dinner audience about impactful initiatives she’s led, including the “She Prays, She Votes” bus tour, a prayer vigil for Israel hosted at the College, and other YWA events.

Sestak addressed the dinner audience about impactful initiatives she’s led, including the “She Prays, She Votes” bus tour, a prayer vigil for Israel hosted at the College, and other YWA events. Her invitation to the inauguration the following day was a profound experience. “Joining with others in the Nation’s Capitol to witness this moment in America’s history is something I will never forget. I’m thankful for opportunities that remind me the importance of engaging in service and patriotism,” she said.

Her involvement in YWA began before college, inspired by a high school mentor who encouraged her to join YWA’s ambassador program. During her first year at College of the Ozarks, she founded the College’s YWA chapter and became its president, officially launching the organization on campus in February 2024.

Sestak’s extensive volunteer work includes efforts with Options Pregnancy Care Center, Convoy of Hope, and Elevate Branson, as well as advocacy for women’s sports and pro-life legislation. “My faith is the foundation and fuel to everything I do,” Sestak explained. “It gives me confidence and peace, knowing that Jesus Christ is sovereign. When He opens a door, all I have to do is walk through, serve, and love others.”

Reflecting on her accomplishments, Sestak offered encouragement to others: “Making a difference in THE world starts by making a difference in YOUR world. Start with your own life, love your community, and God will open the doors to greater opportunities.”

President Brad Johnson praised Sestak’s leadership, saying, “Madelyn’s accomplishments highlight the exceptional character of our students. Her dedication to faith and service exemplifies the vision of the College, and we are proud of her work to make a difference for Christ in her community and beyond.”
