POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — On Friday, Feb. 2, guest pianist Joseph Kingma will perform in the Newman Recital Hall, located in the Gittinger Music Center at College of the Ozarks, at 7:30 p.m. as part of the College of the Ozarks Guest Artist Series.


The concert is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

"Dr. Kingma is a powerful pianist and a wonderful individual that brings so much expression to his playing,” Dr. Clara Christian said. “He and I met in 2017 when we both participated in an International Franz Liszt Competition held in Columbus, Ohio. He was awarded first place!  His commitment to his faith and his excellence in music-making is an inspiration, and he continues to be involved in the American Liszt Society and as a performer throughout the country."

  • Prelude Aria et Final, FWV 23 – Cesar Franck (1822-1890)

Declared by the New York Concert Review to be a “…a rare gift…” and praised for “…showing the command of a master and composer’s insight”, award-winning pianist Joseph Kingma enjoys a multi-faceted career as a soloist, clinician, adjudicator, and teacher. His career as a soloist includes such highlights as performances with the Monroe Symphony, Rapides Symphony, Manassas Symphony, Gulfcoast Symphony, the Chamber Orchestra of Sarasota, and many others. His solo engagements include the Dame Myra Hess Concert Series in Chicago, the Yamaha Artist Services Performance Series in New York City, the Music Institute of Chicago, and the Louisiana Piano Series International.

A member of the American Liszt Society since winning first prize in its 2017 Franz Liszt International Piano Festival and Competition, Joseph has performed in several annual festivals, including 2023, when he hosted the festival at Palm Beach Atlantic University during his tenure as Keyboard Division Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Piano (2018-2023).
