U.S. News & World Report awards C of O top honors as No. 1 Most Innovative School
POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — College of the Ozarks is the No. 1 Most Innovative School in the Midwest and the No. 1 Best Value School in the Midwest, per the recently released guide U.S. News & World Report, Best Colleges 2022-23.
College of the Ozarks also ranked as the No. 1 Top Performer on Social Mobility, No. 1 Best Undergraduate Teaching in the Midwest, and No. 4 Best Regional College. With a mission to serve students who exhibit financial need, this ranking is especially meaningful. Additionally, the College was recognized as an A+ School for B Students.
“We are pleased to once again be ranked so highly by U.S. News & World Report and other rankings,” said College of the Ozarks President Brad Johnson. “Students at Hard Work U. do not pay tuition; instead, they work to offset the cost of their education. U.S. News & World Report has recognized College of the Ozarks as a best college since 1989.
Washington Monthly rankings
College of the Ozarks was recently ranked by Washington Monthly, earning No. 3 Best Bang for the Buck in the Midwest and No. 5 Bachelor’s College. Washington Monthly compared a sampling of 1,466 colleges, including public, private nonprofit, and for-profit institutions. Washington Monthly released its 2022 college guide and rankings in the September/October issue of the magazine and online.
The Best Bang for the Buck colleges (across each of the five regions) are primarily the unsung heroes of American higher education: colleges with strong regional reputations that serve large numbers of students from low-income families and help them graduate and succeed in the labor market. According to Washington Monthly, College of the Ozarks “maintains its top rankings thanks to economic diversity, relatively strong graduation rates, and commitment to meeting students’ financial need.” Students attending College of the Ozarks work, rather than pay, to offset the cost of a degree and earn a debt-free education at Hard Work U.
The Princeton Review rankings
College of the Ozarks was named among The Best 388 Colleges, 2023 edition, by the Princeton Review in their recently released, yearly guidebook. The College was recognized in seven categories and ranked No. 1 in Most Conservative Students.
The Best 388 Colleges guide compares Hard Work U. to the most academically outstanding and prestigious colleges in the nation. The College also placed number seven on the Most Religious Students list, “based on how strongly students agree that their fellow students are very religious.”
