Title: Associate Professor of English
Teaching Focus: Paige Ray primarily teaches College writing, but also provides instruction in literature and English secondary education. Her teaching interests also include the integration of faith and teaching, place-conscious pedagogy, and poetry writing.
Education: MA (Teaching English), Missouri State University; BA (Religion), William Jewell College
Mrs. Ray studied both literature and religion in her undergrad at William Jewell College. During her early career, she taught English at Branson High School while completing her Master of Arts in Teaching. She will begin work on her PhD in Composition and Applied Linguistics at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in summer 2020. Her current writing projects include chapters on pedagogy (including authority in the classroom and the tension between theory and practice), as well as literature (Annie Dillard as the pilgrim of Charles Taylor’s Secular Age).
