Staff helping students

The Vocation Center is committed to student success, and assists students with academic major/minor selection and the development of professional pathways. Additionally, we offer assistance with career assessments, résumés, cover letters, LinkedIn, and developing interview skills. The Vocation Center also helps students find part-time jobs and internships that will help them gain the necessary experience for future employment. Coaching with the director is available by appointment. 

Vocation Center hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM.

Vocation Trip Photo The Vocation Trip at College of the Ozarks is an annual four-day experience designed to help students explore their vocation and prepare for life after graduation. During the trip, students travel to a major city where they connect with alumni, business leaders, nonprofits, and organizations to gain career insight and professional experience. This past year we went to Kansas City. Students participate in networking opportunities, career development workshops, TED-style talks, and visits to businesses and community organizations while refining skills such as interviewing, résumé building, and LinkedIn networking. The trip encourages students to discover their strengths, grow in confidence, and reflect on how their personal calling and career path align with their values and purpose.

Candace Stark is the Director of the Vanek Center for Vocation and Callings at College of the Ozarks. She is deeply committed to serving students and dedicated to supporting their success in their academic, professional, and personal journeys. Her professional mission is to equip the next generation with the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to pursue their vocations and make meaningful contributions to their communities. She thrives on leading initiatives that prepare students for lives of impact, purpose, and service.
