Professor Sandjaja began teaching at College of the Ozarks in 2020 having previously taught at Anderson University in Indiana. His full name (Iwan Sandjaja) is pronounced as e-wən (E1, like letter E and number 1) sən-ja-ya. The students call him Professor Iwan (E1) instead of Professor Sandjaja. Being of Chinese heritage and growing up in Indonesia, Professor Sandjaja is interested in how different cultures approach problem-solving. Since he is both a computer scientist and a computer engineer, he is particularly interested in computer hardware and embedded systems as well as computer vision, computational intelligence, and natural language processing. Professor Sandjaja is a member of ACM, ASA, IEEE, and SIAM.
