Position Title: 
Student Admissions Assistant

Required Schedule Flexibility

Job Description: 
The Admissions Office operates from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, and is the first contact with potential students and their families.  The Admissions assistants work extensively with prospective students, from providing information about the College and its programs, to conducting tours for individual and/or groups of prospective students and working with prospective students’ applications/files.

Primary duties and responsibilities: 
Greet all visitors to the Admissions Office, 
Information requests/mailings, 
Prospective student tours of campus, 
Record and process new applications received, 
Record new information/documentation received for applicant files, 
Periodic correspondence with applicants regarding file completion, 
Answer all calls concerning candidate files, 
Auditing of admissions files, 
Recording fees and other materials received for accepted students, 
Transfer information/files to other offices at appropriate times, 
Periodic correspondence with accepted students, 
E-mail replies and follow-up, 
Schedule recruiter visits to schools and college fairs, 
Mailings to high school counselors.

Secondary duties and responsibilities: 
General cleaning of the office and office restroom, 
Assist, on occasion, the work supervisor and/or dean with special projects, 
Help other departments on campus.

Position Title: 
Agronomy Technician

Job Description: 
Students will be scheduled to work on agronomic duties at the dairy and at various beef farms.  This workstation may require some weekends depending on the field work that is needed at the time.  General duties may include:  spraying, planting, and harvesting forage crops, maintain equipment, and fence lines.

Primary duties and responsibilities: 
Operate tractors, brush hog, no-till drill, sprayers, hay mowers, hay rake, balers, bailage wrappers, mowers, weedeater and chainsaw, 
Up keep and maintenance of the above mentioned equipment, 
Keep record of forage pasture growth, chemical application and production, 
Up keep fence lines, electric fences and pastures, 
Communicate with work supervisor and work well as part of a team.

Secondary duties and responsibilities: 
Set out irrigation, 
Care for animals at various farms when help is needed, 
Build or assist with building fences, 
Talk to visitors and give tours when needed.

Additional Remarks 
Students working at the Agronomy workstation may be working at various beef farms, dairy or hay grounds during the week.  This will require travel to the various locations.  Students must be safety conscious at all times when traveling to and from work locations and when operating equipment.  Students must be trainable and dependable.  They must be able to communicate with and work closely with the work supervisor and other students.

Learning Objectives: 
The student will: 
Become knowledgeable and demonstrate competencies in soil and land management issues, soil sampling, soil fertility, crop and forage production, and pesticide application. 
Learn and perform basic construction, repair and fence-building skills needed to successfully maintain a livestock production operation, 
Learn how to operate and/or show improvement with various pieces of equipment. Equipment may include: tractors, farm truck, weed eaters, chainsaws, brush-hog, hay rake, hay mower, hay baler, hay tedder, skid steer, manure spreader, bale hauling trailer, flatbed trailers and irrigation equipment, 
Learn how to keep adequate production records, including soil fertility, nutrient management, pesticide application and production records, 
Learn and demonstrate the ability to work both independently, and as a team player while at the various school-owned farms and in the Agriculture Department, 
Demonstrate necessary safety skills as they perform various tasks, 
Learn the importance of being punctual and ability to complete and show improvement in various farm duties and chores assigned by the agronomy supervisor, 
Strive to perform all tasks adequately with attention to detail and in a timely manner, 
Strive to cooperate and work as a team not just with each other but also with other Agriculture or campus work stations, 
Exhibit the ability to maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment at all farms.

Position Title: 
Beef Cattle Production Worker

Job Description: 
The Beef Farm’s primary job is caring for the cattle, which is not a 9 to 5 job.  Just like any other farm, flexible hours, transportation, and hard work are involved.  To run a successful operation, priorities must be made. 
Primary duties and responsibilities: 
Feed cattle, 
Health care of animals, 
Maintenance of equipment and facilities, 
Move animals, 
Calve cows, 
Record keeping, 
Dehorn, castrate, breed and tattoo cattle, 
Build and maintain fence, 
Brush hog, 
Operate trucks and tractors, 
Mow, rake, bale and haul hay, 
Talk to visitors and give tours as needed.

Secondary duties and responsibilities: 
Apply ear tags, 
Clean and bed, 
Weigh, 
Paint buildings, fences, and equipment, 
Clean and wash trucks, 
Run chainsaw, 
Dig post holes, drive steel posts, 
Carry large or awkward objects.

Basic Qualifications: 
Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. (occasionally heavier objects), 
Dependability, promptness, and honesty, 
Ability to drive a variety of vehicles such as a truck or tractor, 
Ability to keep a schedule and multi-task, 
Ability to work under times of pressure, in stressful situations.

Additional Remarks 
Working with cattle and farm equipment is not a job you can learn overnight; a background in some type of agriculture is preferred but certainly not required.

Enhance their knowledge of nutritional requirements for beef cattle, along with health symptoms and treatments, 
Learn how to provide facilities (barns, barn yards, fences, pastures, and corrals) that allow safe, humane, and efficient movement, care and/or restraining of cattle, 
Learn the importance of timely observations and of records on cattle to ensure their basic needs are being met. This includes animal estrus cycles, parturition, weights, and health, 
Gain knowledge on how to minimize stress when transporting cattle, 
Learn the importance of pasture conditions, (grass coverage, forage types, and weeds), 
Learn selection and evaluation of cattle, both visual and genetic, 
Learn how to maintain and provide for the safe, clean and efficient operation of beef farm equipment; this includes maintenance of fluids, tires, and the safe driving of that equipment, 
Learn to be self-motivated, along with the ability to work in groups, 
Learn the importance of being punctual and responsible for coming to work, 
Remain flexible so as to perform a variety of tasks that may or may not be related to the beef farm's needs or requirements.

Position Title: 
Dairy Worker

Required Schedule Flexibility

Job Description: 
Students are scheduled to work at the dairy from 4 am to 10 pm, 7 days a week. However, they may be required to work later or come in earlier if needed.  Work at the dairy centers around the general management and care of dairy cattle, facilities, pastures, and milk processing.

Primary duties and responsibilities: 
Milk dairy cows, 
Feed cattle, 
Process and package milk, 
Deliver and sell milk, 
Maintain grounds and buildings,
Talk to visitors and give tours as needed.

Secondary duties and responsibilities: 
Irrigate pastures, 
Mow, rake, bale, and hale hay, 
Build and maintain fences, 
Operate trucks, tractors and equipment.

Basic Qualifications: 
Ability to learn new skills, 
Dependable, prompt and self-motivated.

Desirable Qualifications: 
Ability to work with others, 
Pleasant personality, 
Patient and calm around animals, 
Respect and care for animals.

Additional Remarks 
Individuals having severe allergies (hay, dust, pollen, grass, hair) will need to be aware that they will have exposure to allergens.  They need to notify their work supervisor and have proper means to control reactions (epinephrine, allergy medication, etc.). An individual’s assignments at the dairy will be determined by skill level and their willingness to work.

Learn how to work both independently and as a team player while at the dairy farm and agriculture department, 
Demonstrate necessary safety skills while performing various tasks around the dairy farm, 
Learn the importance of being punctual, and alert the dairy manager of any schedule changes, 
Strive to perform adequately farm and dairy management tasks with attention to detail and in a timely manner, 
Learn how to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment at the dairy farm, 
Represent the College well (demeanor and appearance) with our many visitors to the dairy and campus tours, 
Remain flexible so as to perform a variety of tasks that may or may not be related to the diary's needs or requirements, 
Show improvement in all tasks performed as the semester(s) progresses.

Position Title: 
Feed Mill Operator

Required Schedule Flexibility

Job Description: 
The Feed Mill operates Monday through Friday and provides all the feeds for the College livestock, including the dairy herd, beef herd, and swine herd.

Primary duties and responsibilities: 
Operate and maintain machinery which conveys, grinds, crushes, and mixes grain and other ingredients to make feeds, 
operate and maintain 2-ton truck with manual transmission and hydraulically-driven augers to deliver most of the feeds, 
Handle bags up to 65 pounds by hand and with a two-wheel hand-truck, 
Read and understand written instructions for properly and safely operating and maintaining machinery and mixing and delivering feeds, 
Keep handwritten records of feed-making and maintenance tasks, 
Maintain, through proper housekeeping and sanitation procedures, the feed mill building and the sale barn building (used as a storage area for packaged feed ingredients) and the outdoor area surrounding these buildings, 
Receive bulk grain delivered by tractor-trailer, 
Drive pickups and 1-ton trucks with manual and automatic transmissions to perform various tasks, including trips to Harrison, AR, and Ozark and Springfield, MO, to purchase and haul feed ingredients and other farm supplies, 
Cooperate with other college student workers and employees who place feed orders, perform maintenance and repair work, and do work on group projects, 
Provide friendly and informative reception to visitors who come to the feed mill area to visit the dairy, tractor museum, etc.,
Give tours as needed.

Secondary duties and responsibilities: 
Care for animals, 
Build fences, 
Operate tractors, 
Cut weeds and brush, 
Sow seed, mow grass, 
Apply pesticides, 
Pick up trash, 
Other tasks generally associated with farming operations.

Position Title: 
Hog Farm Worker

Required Schedule Flexibility

Job Description: 
The Hog Farm is a part of the Agriculture Department’s farming operations designed to teach students the skills, knowledge, and management techniques necessary to operate and succeed at the production of high quality swine.

Primary duties and responsibilities: 
Animal care issues including: health, nutrition, reproduction, sanitation, birthing, disease control, comfort, feeding, watering, shipping, marketing, baby pig processing, surgical castration, selection of replacement stock, and growth of the swine, 
Physical facilities including: mowing, trimming, chain saw work, fencing, basic carpentry, basic plumbing, basic repairs to equipment and buildings and occasional cement work, 
Equipment care, operation, and safety including: driving a truck with both standard and automatic transmissions, brush hogging, feed wagon, hydraulic hog cart, water wagon, big bale lift, loader operation, two and four wheel wagons, and manure spreader. The proper maintenance of this equipment is also required including, but not limited to: starting and stopping properly, gear selection and shifting, braking, checking all fluids and tire pressure, hydraulic operation, hitching to and unhooking from equipment, greasing, oiling, and cleaning, 
Human relations skills including: working as a well- functioning team member, very good communications skills involving both speaking and writing. Good attitude, respectful, courteous, easy to work with, mature, responsible, enthusiastic, cooperative, a problem solver, and a self starter, 
Record keeping skills including: both personnel and animal data entry and maintenance, 
Periodic weekend work doing chores based upon a fair rotation of the student workers at the farm.

Secondary duties and responsibilities: 
Wash trucks and equipment, mop, sweep, general cleaning, and haul trash/garbage, paint, clear selected wooded areas, and register litters of pigs, 
Talk to visitors and interested hog buyers in an intelligent and friendly manner and give tours as needed, 
Assist in the delivery of piglets from a sow in distress during birthing.

Basic Qualifications: 
Physically fit and willing to do strenuous labor, 
Preferably an agriculture major, 
Works safely in all aspects of the job, 
Understands good basic animal care, 
Understands good facility and equipment care, 
A schedule that is clear of classes so work can occur either all morning or all afternoon, 
A driver’s license and safe history of driving and equipment operation, 
Not afraid of getting dirty, 
Dependable, prompt, adheres to the work schedule and has some common sense.

Desirable Qualifications: 
Likes to work in close contact with animals and their fellow students and those close contact parties also like him/her, 
Enjoys the outdoors and taking on the responsibility of a farming operation, 
Can think on the job, ask thoughtful questions, learn, is patient, has attention to detail in their work habits, does quality work that is coupled with a good quantity of work, and is caring.

Additional Remarks 
The Hog Farm is located approximately 5.6 miles from the campus. Students clock-in at the dairy and drive a College truck to the farm. Students must be safety conscience in every aspect of the farm operation. It is also desirable that the student worker can function properly without close supervision by his senior student worker peers or the farm manager once they are trained.

Learn and perform basic construction, repair, and fence building skills needed to successfully maintain a farm operation, 
Learn how to operate various pieces of equipment on the farm: tractors, farm truck, rotary cutter, pig tote, feed wagon, chain saw, manure spreader, gooseneck/bumper trailers, and other farm implements, 
Learn and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as a team player while at the farm, 
Demonstrate necessary safety skills while performing various tasks around the hog farm, 
Learn the importance of being punctual and the ability to complete various farm duties and chores as assigned by the farm manager, 
Strive to perform farm and swine management tasks adequately with attention to detail and in a timely manner, 
Exhibit the ability to maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment at the farm, 
Demonstrate a growth of knowledge from the induction phase as a hog farm worker to the completion phase based on a swine knowledge pre-test and post-test.

Position Title: 
Processing Plant Worker

Required Schedule Flexibility

Job Description: 
The Processing Plant oversees the slaughter and processing of USDA inspected and approved pork and beef (live animal to finished product), including butchering, cutting and smoking meats, curing hams, cleaning facilities and equipment, general maintenance and maintaining records, among other duties.  Plant hours are from 7 am to 3 pm.  All processing will be completed during this period, but work hours are not limited to this time frame.

Primary duties and responsibilities: 
Animal slaughter, 
Process animals, 
Cure and smoke meats, 
Sterilization of facilities, 
Keep records.

Secondary duties and responsibilities: 
General maintenance, 
Office duties, 
Computer skills, 
Meat packaging,
Talk to visitors and give tours as needed.

Basic Qualifications: 
Interpersonal communication, 
Dependable, 
Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Desirable Qualifications: 
Agriculture background, 
Previous processing plant experience.

Additional Remarks 
Requirement to work late hours when smoking meats, 
Weekend hours may be required (FFA Workshop-District Meats Contest).

Learn basic HACCP manual regulations, 
Learn and be able to identify the basic wholesale and retail cuts from both pork and beef, 
Perform and/or learn about humane animal slaughter, 
Learn and demonstrate knowledge and competencies in the basics of curing and smoking meats, 
Learn and demonstrate progress in the skills needed from the harvest to a ready-to-eat product, 
Learn proficiency in the break down, cleaning, and sterilization of all equipment, 
Learn and perform basic record keeping and filing that keeps a processing plant operational, 
Need to be able to remain calm under pressure, 
Be able to take instruction from our USDA inspector in charge, 
Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as with a team, 
Learn and show improvement in the operation of the basic equipment necessary to further process meat, if permitted, 
Pay close attention to detail when dealing with ready-to-eat products for the product to be safe and healthy for our consumers to eat, 
Demonstrate necessary safety skills as they perform various tasks around the plant and operation of the delivery vehicle, 
Report any mistakes/accidents and make and honest effort to correct them, 
Exhibit the proper demeanor and appearance when dealing with the public, 
Remain flexible so as to perform a variety of tasks that may or may not be related to the meat processing plant's needs or requirements,

Position Title:
Agriculture Office Assistant

Job Description:
As team members, we are expected to be at work from 8 am to 9 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 8 am to 5 pm on Friday.  We are all responsible for carrying out the Agriculture Office mission statement: Our mission is to assist the agriculture professors and students in the general operation of the department.  The following areas are vital to the success of our mission: appearance, student recruitment, teamwork, attention to detail, and to provide information about the Agriculture Department.  Team management is practiced in the Agriculture Office. This style of management empowers each assistant to manage projects and improve the standardization of office procedures. As office assistants we provide general secretarial services to the agriculture professors, to the managers of the farm operations, and to the students of College of Ozarks.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Each office assistant is required to manage at least one project each semester. The office organization system is continuously updated by the revamping of project procedural manuals,
Typing, use of computers, organization of records,
Mail pickup and delivery,
Office management,
Serve as a receptionist,
Supervise the computer lab,
Clean,
Assist students,
Preserve the department library,
Serve as project managers,
Coordinate the various department-sponsored workshops,
Answer phones,
Talk to visitors and give tours as needed,
Organize reception tables for division and department functions,
Assist the AG Dept Weekend Duty officer when assigned (8 am to 5 pm on Saturdays).

ALUMNI NEWS: Alumni student staff do most of the typing and proofreading of this alumni publication that is published three times a year. Sometimes students are assigned articles to write for the publication,
HOMECOMING: Much work and planning goes into Homecoming each year. Students help with all phases from developing the chosen theme to working with reunion years, selling tickets, collecting dues and receiving contributions,
CLEANING: The Alumni Center is maintained by the Alumni Office student staff. Cleaning duties are divided evenly among the staff. Some jobs are weekly, while others are daily. It is very important one does the assigned job on the appropriate day to ensure that the Center is clean at all times.

Job Description:
The Child Development Center is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm twelve months of the year.   The facility provides childcare for the community, along with dependents of faculty and staff.  The children range in age from infants to six years of age.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Always be on time so others can get to class,
Find a replacement before you ask for time off,
Teach children in the classroom with other student workers,
Help with maintenance of the facility (bathrooms, kitchen, cleaning, scrubbing, pulling weeds, etc.).

Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Help with Christmas program, special appearances of the children,
Paint and repair work.

Basic Qualifications:
Enjoy working with children and be very dependable,
Able to lift at least 45 pounds, because of the children, toys, etc.,

The Child Development Center is a unique work station on campus. Health Clinic Student Worker

Job Description:
The campus health clinic helps to serve the basic health and medical needs for the College’s students. The clinic sees approximately four to five thousand students, faculty, and staff in one year’s time.  Students are seen for sickness, work related accidents, immunization updates, and physical examinations. Faculty and Staff are seen for workman’s comp accidents, or BP checks.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Answer phones, take messages, answer simple questions to patients about clinic activities and rules,
Keep charts up to date, make new charts on incoming students, file charts, fill out forms for students charts,
Enter data into the computer,
Check out equipment on loan, charge out OTC drugs,
Transport patients to various doctors offices and appointments,
Take vital signs on new patients each day,
Run errands all over campus to other departments,
Assist the nurses or PA with hands-on care,
Assist with first aid, and patient-care activities.

Cleaning duties of the clinic: vacuum, dust, sterilize equipment, make beds, fill the van with gas, restock medical supplies, etc.

Demonstrate hands-on duties such as taking vital signs, sterilizing instruments, waiting on patients, using professional telephone etiquette, checking out rental equipment, effective communication with medical staff, and transporting patients to doctor appointments off campus,

The student workers in the Computer Science Department serve as departmental assistants to the professors of the department, and assist other students utilizing the Computer Science Lab. The Computer Science Department lab hours of operation are as follows:

Saturday & Sunday     1:00 pm     -  3:00 pm

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Provide technical support to students, troubleshooting software-related issues involving Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Integrated Development Environments (IDE's), and programming language translators.
Offer tutoring services in various computer related subjects to enhance student learning outcomes.
Maintain a professional and positive demeanor when interacting with lab users and colleagues.
Support Computer Science faculty as needed, including tasks such as preparing class materials, grading assignments and exams, assisting during lectures, proctoring tests, and running errands.

Monitor and manage printer resources, including paper and toner levels, with timely requests for replacements.
Manage the daily pickup and delivery of campus mail.

The Custodial Department takes care of the janitorial needs of 14 areas on campus. We work 7 am – 5 pm Monday through Friday.  Students are required to work 2-3 weekends per semester and occasionally some evenings.

Strip and wax floors,
Clean carpets, windows, etc.

The Office of the Academic Dean is open from 8 am until 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The office does close during the lunch hour. The weekend of these special events requires student assistance.

The Office of the Academic Dean works closely with all faculty members/adjuncts and maintains student academic records such as request for advisors, internships, graduation extension requests, course substitutions and transfer course requests. Student Assistants must have an eye for detail and maintain accurate records. In addition, students will answer incoming calls, greet guests, assist with certain events, and assist the work supervisor and the Dean of the College as requested.

Job Description:
The Faculty Services student worker's main priority is to serve the professors in the Jones Building in whatever capacity they might need.  We are also the information center for activities occurring in the Jones Building.  The main departments that are served include:  English, History, Art, Bible and Theological Studies, Foreign Language, The Writing Center and Theater.  Faculty Services student workers also serve as essay reviewers to mark and code errors for students in Composition Skills.  We are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Make copies of C of O related material for faculty and staff only.
Grade objective sections of quizzes and exams.
Run general errands for faculty and supervisor.
Proctor/monitor tests for professors.

10,000 - 12,000 fruitcakes per year,
70,000 jars of fruit spreads and various other flavors,
4,000 bags of flavored pecan, granola and trail mix (packaged),
3,000 specialty cakes,
5,000 pans of ice cream for the Keeter Center,
2,600 gourmet cookies baked to sell at the Edwards Mill & Weaving.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Measuring and mixing ingredients accurately to have a quality finished product,
Accurately recording lot codes on all ingredients used in making products,
Making decisions as to when the product is done,
Packaging products (nut mixtures),
Maintaining clean tables in the kitchen and around food product,
Checking in groceries each week,
Putting away and organizing groceries using the FIFO (first in, first out) rule.

The office assistant will provide general clerical, administrative and classroom support to the Hotel & Restaurant Management faculty, will meet visitors to the HRM program, will be available to assist The Keeter Center professional staff when approved, and will assist in the planning and management of departmental activities.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Prepare material for classes and events including word processing and photocopying,
Welcome visitors and guests to the HRM program.

With the approval of the HRM faculty, assist the professional staff of The Keeter Center with banquet, catering or guest relations tasks.

The students in the Electronics Department assist the electronics staff in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all electronic equipment on campus.  This includes the campus analog telephones, all fire alarm systems, security systems, TV cabling, campus public address systems and sound systems for special events.

Maintain and replace approximately 300 analog phone,
Clean and replace smoke detectors,
Maintain a clean and orderly work space,

Service responsibilities include set up and placement of tables, table linens, place settings, and centerpieces, serving food and beverages, along with clearing and clean up of all dishware, glasses, silverware and linens and completion of all other banquet related duties.

Assist with set up of banquet and meeting functions with items such as tables, linens, dishware, silverware, glassware, centerpieces etc.,

Handle all customer-related trouble calls: lights out in rooms, plumbing problems, trash, pickup outside, parking lot cleanup,
Maintain audio/visual equipment for the Keeter Center. This includes catered events,
Assist in maintenance of the kitchen equipment, plumbing repairs, lights, drains, disposals and refrigeration equipment.

Protect student information as defined by FERPA,
Clean: sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, wash dishes, take out trash, clean bathrooms and classrooms,
Organize: kitchens, shopping for food classes, and lab setup and support,

Job Description: 
The Outlook student workers organize, publish, and distribute the student newspaper. The Outlook reports on most events on campus as well as publishing editorials, student columns, and student, faculty and staff submissions. The responsibilities of the four student workers are as follows:

Responsible to the advisor for production of the publication, 
Supervise the activities of the other student publication personnel, 
Make assignments on a weekly basis for stories, pictures, and layout of the publication,

Ensure deadlines are met with the Print Shop to produce the publication on schedule.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the staff writers (2) are: 
Responsible to editor and advisor for assisting in planning, writing, photographing, and editing the weekly publication to meet production schedule, 
Assist in editing and proofreading all copies submitted by staff, 
Assist in preparing copy for Print Shop to produce publication on schedule, 
Work on specific and special projects as assigned by the editor and/or advisor.

The primary duties and responsibilities of the sports writer are: 
Responsible to editor and advisor for assisting in planning, photographing, and writing weekly publications to meet production schedule, 
Responsible to report on the weekly College home or away games, 
Assist in preparing copies for Print Shop to produce publication on schedule,

The Patriotic Activities Office is open Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm and is closed on College holidays. Student workers may have to work an occasional evening/weekend in regard to events being held by the College. Student workers will have various clerical responsibilities, including telephone reception, letter writing, hotel booking, and travel logistics. Student workers will communicate with Veterans and College affiliates in a professional, friendly manner.  The position includes, but is not limited to, various service-related activities for the greater community.

Job Description:
Athletic training students are an extension of the head athletic trainer. They provide services to the athletes for all practices, games, and rehabilitation sessions. This position can possibly involve working 6-7 days a week depending on the athletic season and practice schedules.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Provide care and treatment of all reported athletic injuries,
Administer first aid as necessary,
Set up training facility for pre practice and post practice treatments,
Be able to use all therapeutic modalities,
Be able to input all daily treatment and injury notes on the computer using the Medicat,
Attend and work selected athletic games and practices involving physically either sitting on the bench or be nearby,
Provide care for morning treatment and rehabilitation sessions (as needed),
Attend mandatory in-service educational sessions in the training facility,
Compile yearly injury statistics,
Scan old athletes' files utilizing Medicat or similar software,
Any other duties deemed necessary by the Head Athletic Trainer,
Successfully complete the athletic training proficiency skills test.

Student workers assist with the operation of the College swimming pool in its everyday activities.  These programs provide lap and recreational swims and wellness opportunities for campus students, faculty and staff.

Assist in the supervision and operation of the swimming pool,
Serve as a lifeguard for all College-related swimming events,
Assist with the College’s beginning swimming classes,
Assist with the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program,
Maintain up-to-date certifications in all areas of lifeguarding.

Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Clean the pool deck, equipment and the pool locker rooms,
Vacuum the pool,
Work the admission gate for home volleyball and basketball contests,
Become certified at the instructor level in lifeguarding or water safety.

The Ralph Foster Museum is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm year round.  The Ralph Foster Museum houses thousands of items from natural history to firearms to fine arts, and its current mission is to collect, preserve, interpret and display items relating to the history and culture of the Ozark Mountain region.  The position includes but is not limited to various service-related activities for the greater community such as reading to area public school students.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Sell admission tickets, museum shop merchandise and check in/receive payment for group tours when they arrive at the Museum,
Provide security for the artifacts and displays,
Assist guests in answering questions about the Museum, the College of the Ozarks and the surrounding area,
Answer incoming phone calls concerning general museum information and forwarding other calls to appropriate permanent staff members,
Perform general cleaning tasks each morning prior to opening such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming and cleaning the restrooms.

The Retail Warehouse is a distribution center that holds and distributes product for the Campus Guest Destinations along with the ecommerce business. The warehouse is open Monday through Saturday business hours and during peak shipping times hours are possible to change.  The Retail Operations department is responsible for distribution guest destinations such as: Keeter Center gift shop, Edwards Mill, Fruitcake and Jelly Kitchen, Stained Glass and Candle Shop, and the Ralph Foster Museum. Lock and/or unlock campus buildings on a set schedule,

Primary duties and responsibilities:
A. Athletics Officer:
Lead cheers and pep-building activities at athletic events,
Meet weekly with Athletic Director to plan and discuss upcoming games and Students' Union involvement in said games, or other events that pertain to the Athletic Department,
Coordinate with Students' Union team members to ensure there are at least 2 working for each home game,
Plan away sporting event trips and communicate a plan of action to appropriate supervisors, including, but not limited to, choosing games to travel to, creating van signup sheets for students (ID number included), arranging transportation, and bringing and keeping track of all necessary materials,
Plan all themes for games during halftime and in-between sets, at the beginning of the semester, in coordination with both the Athletic Department and the students on the Athletics Committee (chosen by The Student Union officers),
Keep track of all sponsorship material (gift cards, shirts, etc.), and relay information to the Director of Student Activities when more material is needed,
Communicate with the Bobcat mascot for tryouts and schedule for games, and ensure preparedness for games,

Position Title:
Switchboard Operator

Job Description:
The Switchboard operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is the communication center of the campus.  The Switchboard receives all off-campus incoming calls, as well as calls from students, faculty, staff and administrators on campus.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Answer all incoming calls from on and off campus and route them to the appropriate location,
Maintain radio contact with the campus security, fire department and various administrative officials,
Monitor the campus alarm system and notify the proper authorities when the alarms are activated,
Handle incoming and outgoing fax correspondence.

Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Sweep, dust mop and general cleaning of the Switchboard work space,
Assist, on occasion, with the Student Work Office activities.

Basic Qualifications:
Phone skills: ability to communicate effectively, clear voice, good diction, customer service attitude,
Dependability, promptness and faithful adherence to the work schedule,
Remain calm under pressure, especially when emergencies occur,
Ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail,

Position Title:
Barista/Cashier

Job Description:
The position is a natural progression for those students who have demonstrated a strong work ethic, professionalism, and student leadership in previous workstations. Student workers must be willing to work as both Cashier and Barista. Attention to detail is required for ensuring the product order and product delivery meet the customers’ expectations. The job is open to Sophomores and above. Interviews will require a resume and will report to the Bobcat Food Services Director.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Attend all mandatory trainings. Students will be required to become a Food Handler through Taney County,
Complete all duties in a professional and courteous manner,
Work as team to deliver all customers a high level of service,
Follow all rules in Student Dining Center and College of the Ozarks Student Handbook,
Keep all workspaces clean and sanitary,
Keep all supplies full to ensure customer satisfaction.

Desirable Qualifications:

Maintain a professional appearance, through both uniform and personal hyenine,

Position Title: 
The Point Newsroom Video Journalist

Job Description: 
The Point Newsroom work station produces a weekly web newscast, "The Point", which presents television-style news stories about people, developments, and events at College of the Ozarks.  The Point Newsroom student video journalist's task is to work as part of a team to gather factual, contextual, and visual elements for each newscast and to assemble those elements into a well-produced, accurate, and interesting web newscast each week. 

The student staff works under the direct and daily supervision of The Point Newsroom Faculty Supervisor. 

The Point Newsroom video journalists have a set of shared duties, as well as, individual duties for their Newsroom roles. 
Primary duties and responsibilities: 
Ensure that the content of "The Point" newscast adheres to the mission of the college journalism program and to the quality standards for "The Point", 
Research news stories for "The Point", 
Videotape news stories for "The Point", 
Edit video for "The Point" on AVID non-linear editing systems, 
Write news stories for "The Point", 
Report on-camera for "The Point", 
Conduct interviews-in person, on the phone, or by email - with campus news sources for "The Point", 
Log in and transcribe b-roll and interviews for their own stories and for those of their fellow The Point Newsroom video journalists, 
Produce the weekly campus-based web newscast "The Point", 
Ensure the security and operational integrity of all equipment in The Point Work Station, including the security of all SD cards, 
Maintain cleanliness and order in The Point Newsroom Work Station. 
The Point video journalists will also be given specific roles within The Point Newsroom structure, which include but are not limited to: executive producer, assignment editor, senior producer, sports director, senior reporter, and chief photographer.

Must be capable of learning to use videography and video-editing equipment effectively, 
Must have completed MJR 213 Introduction to Journalism, 
Should have completed or be enrolled in MPR 273 Video Editing,

Must be willing to work in a newsroom that promotes Christ-like character.

Learn how to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in order to produce a weekly newscast,

Position Title:
Writing Assistant

Job Description:
The Writing Center (TWC) is an academic support facility for all students, faculty, and staff of the College.  Its mission is to provide writing conferences and assistance for students with all writing projects in progress.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Conduct Reader Responses in person, in order to assist students with writing proficiency and written academic assignments,
Perform administrative tasks: filling out TWC paperwork, scheduling appointments and composition proficiency exames, answering the phone, and checking the email account,
Attend monthly staff meetings,
Edit online papers from other schools.

Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Compile and analyze statistics,
Promote The Writing Center through public relations,
Coordinate TWC staff meetings and take minutes,
Retrieve and deliver campus mail,
Coordinate classroom visits to educate students about TWC services,
Water plants,
Clean The Writing Center,
Proctor exams.

Basic Qualifications:
3.0 GPA,
Completion of Comp 103 with either an A or a B, OR successful completion of the composition proficiency exam,
Two letters of recommendation from faculty (one English teacher),
Interview with the TWC director,
Submission of sample essays,
Successful completion of OR enrollment in ENG 223 Introduction to Grammar.

Additional Remarks
Working in The Writing Center is a privilege.  Few other work stations on campus provide students with the opportunity to work with other students in academic endeavors.  Our work is highly specialized and intellectually demanding.  We have a serious responsibility to students’ academic improvement.

Be familiar with The Writing Center policies and procedures outlined in the staff manual,

Position Title:
Jones Theatre Company Student Worker

Job Description:
Students assigned to the Theatre Department are involved in all phases of theatrical production, as the department stages several major play productions each year.  The “Jones crew” also is responsible for having the Jones Auditorium ready for the many other events held there each year (convocations, Homecoming Queen Coronation ceremony, music programs, etc.), and for providing technical support for these events.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
All phases of theatrical production, as the department stages several major play productions each year,
Prepare the Jones Auditorium for events such as the convocation series, Homecoming Queen Coronation ceremony, music programs and community events,
Maintain the physical plant of the theatre .

Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Office management skills,
Acclimate theatre practicum students to the theatre work station,
Support the theatre club, Act One.

Basic Qualifications:
Genuinely interested in theatre ,
Self-starting and motivated to work,
Responsible and punctual.

Desirable Qualifications:
Capable of running theatre equipment, i.e. lights and sound,
Set construction skills like welding and carpentry, and costuming skills like sewing, cutting and draping, but we are willing to teach said skills,
Office management skills.

2.  Technical support includes but is not limited to the following areas of theatre as per show requirements: set construction, costumes, props, scene painting, makeup and hair assistance, lighting and sound reinforcement, back stage running crews, follow spotlight operators, lighting and sound board operations, sound production, dressers, costume maintenance, maintenance of theatre facility and equipment, publicity, ticket reservations, box office and ushers.

Position Title:
Transportation Student Worker

Job Description:
Transportation operates 8 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm Monday through Friday. The Transportation Department takes care of all campus vehicles and road vehicles belonging to the College. Transportation is in charge of setting up for special events and assisting in various projects that require labor support.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Move furniture for various departments,
Move pianos, organs, and other
Wash and clean College vehicles,
Lubricate, change the oil, and check all fluid levels of vehicles,
Assist staff mechanics in minor or major repairs on campus vehicles and other motorized equipment (tillers, mowers, etc.),
Assist other departments on campus in various ways, including, but not limited to:

Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Transport, twice weekly, students to and from Wal-Mart,
Occasional weekend events, on campus, requiring several students,
Provide labor wherever needed on campus, when there is something to load, unload, or transport from one place to another.

Basic Qualifications:
Must be able to lift reasonably heavy objects,
Must have a valid driver's license and pass drivers safety course.

Desirable Qualifications:
Have an understanding or moderate mechanical knowledge,
Must have a pleasant demeanor and some computer skills,
Must display respect for College vehicles and property.

Learn the proper way to lift and move heavy objects,
Learn minor vehicle maintenance,
Learn to clean and properly maintain vehicles,
Learn to repair flat tires and work the tire equipment.

Position Title:
Warehouse Crew

Job Description:
Student workers at the Warehouse fill requests for supplies for various items needed by offices and departments on campus and will learn how to properly receive, price, stock, sell and deliver items, complete appropriate paperwork and computer entries, as well as other warehouse operations.  The warehouse is the central receiving and shipping point for the College campus which receives packages from commercial carriers.

Primary duties and responsibilities:
Assist customers by helping them find what they need,
Ship and receive packages for the College, complete the appropriate paperwork, and deliver to appropriate departments,
Receive items for stocking the warehouse, including using the computer to charge out items, entering items into inventory and typing purchase orders,
Answer the telephone, including responding to issues and needs of staff, students and outside salesmen.

Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Each student is assigned an area in the warehouse that they are responsible to maintain,
Do work as requested by purchasing director,
Housekeeping in the warehouse including box room, van and restroom.

Basic Qualifications:
Ability to focus on multiple projects,
Good oral and written communication skills,
Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds,
Computer literate,
Have great human relation skills.

Desirable Qualifications:
Able to pay attention to details (lots of paperwork),
Work well with others and have a positive attitude,
Multi-task quickly.

Additional Remarks
This department is not major specific, but it does require a motivated, mature and responsible individual who is accountable for his or her decisions.
