Job Description:
Hours of operation: 8 AM - 12 PM and 1 PM - 5 PM Monday through Friday. Web Development students work within the Computer Center and provide support and development for the College's websites and web-based applications. the area includes two distinct job types.
A. Graphic Artist:
- Design website layout and look using Adobe Photoshop,
- Design site navigation,
- Create logos,
- Research trends and styles for website design.
B. Application Developer:
- Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices,
- Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent,
- Write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using ASP.net, C#, JavaScript, Visual Studio,
- Research new web application trends (for example: website layouts and up-to-date programming languages, paradigms, and techniques).
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to communicate effectvely and to follow verbal instructions,
Dependability, promptness and faithful adherence to work schedule,
Ability to take direction sand adhere to strict procedural guidelines,
Ability to exhibit initiative and perform tasks without direct supervision.
Desirable Qualifications:
Eagerness to learn new tasks and skills,
General knowledge of computer hardware and software installation procedures,
General knowledge of Microsoft Office software,
Flexibility in adapting to the daily requirements of the job.

The Computer Center provides student workers with the opportunity to gain skills in the high-demand area of Application Development. The experience gained from this work assignment will prove invaluable as the student seeks professional employment during the post-collegiate phase of their career.
Learning Objectives:
The student will:
Adhere to a schedule and demonstrate time management skills through their work,
Clean desks, take out trash, and sweep/mop the office floor as needed,
Pick up and deliver mail,
Understand and agree to follow the College's Use Policy, as well as, the Student Internet Access Policy,
Learn how to troubleshoot and solve computer related problems,
Learn the different components in a computer and how they work,
Learn how to identify as well as navigate current Microsoft Windows operatin gsystems and products,
Learn to be proficient in internal software used on campus,
Learn computer terminology and how to communicate technical terms to others in the department or to external companies for support,
Use current techniques, skills and tools necessary to adequately troubleshoot campus-related technical problems,
Acquire theskills necessary to succeed as an IT technician in the field,
Understand the procedure in reformatting/imaging computers,
Learn coding practices and use that knowledge to improve the College's daily internal processes,
Learn how to disassemble/reassemble parts in different technical hardware effectively.
