The Students' Union Officer

Job Description:
The Students' Union Office operates from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. Students also work at other times performing necessary tasks and attending events related to the Students' Union.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
A. Athletics Officer:
Lead cheers and pep-building activities at athletic events,
Meet weekly with Athletic Director to plan and discuss upcoming games and Students' Union involvement in said games, or other events that pertain to the Athletic Department,
Coordinate with Students' Union team members to ensure there are at least 2 working for each home game,
Plan away sporting event trips and communicate a plan of action to appropriate supervisors, including, but not limited to, choosing games to travel to, creating van signup sheets for students (ID number included), arranging transportation, and bringing and keeping track of all necessary materials,
Plan all themes for games during halftime and in-between sets, at the beginning of the semester, in coordination with both the Athletic Department and the students on the Athletics Committee (chosen by The Student Union officers),
Keep track of all sponsorship material (gift cards, shirts, etc.), and relay information to the Director of Student Activities when more material is needed,
Communicate with the Bobcat mascot for tryouts and schedule for games, and ensure preparedness for games,
Clean office area,
Clean the student lounge area once a month with your team members.
B. Events Officer:
Delegate tasks to Students' Union members for tasks to build enthusiasm for events,
Work with Students' Union members to develop task sheets/checklists for each event,
Schedule and preside over monthly meetings,
Work with Students' Union officers to organize and plan events and implement delegation,
Represent the Students' Union at any major event, or delegate the representation.
Oversee completion of event-related work orders,
Supervise and support all events from beginning to end, strive to improve current and future events,
Be creative and add to a list of fun events that have never been done at College of the Ozarks,
Clean office area,
Clean the student lounge area once a month with your team members.
C. Intramural Officer:
Prepare and plan all intramural experiences (Big 4 leagues and mini-tournaments)
Ensure all activities are planned in enough time for proper advertising,
Communicate with Sports Information Director about gym usage to schedule leagues and mini-tournaments,
Manage IMLeagues.com,
Communicate with Residence Halls about the Residence Hall Championship Series points,
Communicate with Residence Directors who help govern IM nights,
Be creative and fun with getting different demographics to IM experiences,
Clean office area,
Clean the student lounge area once a month with your team members.
D. Communications Officer:
Prepare and plan all posts for advertisement on social media, including expanding the Students' Union's outreach on all social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat),
Find ways to speak to commuters,
Seek event partnerships in advertising with other campus groups,
Confirm completion of activities planning and send out the appropriate "thank you" notes,
Coordinate advertising efforts, particularly for convocations, athletic events, plays,
Ensure all activities are planned in enough time for proper advertising,
Assess and determine long-term advertising goals,
Arrange for the production of advertising or promotional films,
Act as liaison to the Media Production department,
Clean office area,
Clean the student lounge once a month with your team members.
E. Student Body President / Student Services Officer:
Encourage synergy between clubs and organizations,
Act as a liaison between the Students' Union and all campus groups,
Plan engaging student forums at least once a semester,
Help with "Miss Hard Work U" in the fall,
Hold a mandatory clubs and organizations informational meeting the first week of school,
Organize one clubs and organizations fair per year,
Manage Students' Union budget,
Host highway trash pickup twice each semester,
Oversee the Student Appeals Court,
Oversee the Student Body Association,
Administer at least one major survey each semester to assess The Students' Union effectiveness,
Clean office area,
Clean the student lounge once a month with your team members.
