Job Description:
The Purchasing Office is open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Students collect paperwork to show receipts of products in order to pay invoices.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Process and problem solve invoices with faculty and staff which will later be sent to accounts payable to be paid,
Answer the telephone while responding to issues and opportunities posed by outside sales and staff,
Work with computer on the network and online researching products and inputting data,
Help with staffing warehouse during their lean schedule times,
Housekeeping in office and restroom.
Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Cross train in the warehouse,
Cover Purchasing Director’s office in his absence,
Do any utility work needed by Purchasing Director (i.e. recycle, deliveries, pickups, etc.).
Basic Qualifications:
Ability to focus on multiple projects,
Excellent oral and written communication skills,
Ability to ask the right questions to solve various problems in purchasing area,
Computer literate,
Have great human relations skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
Amazing attention to detail,
Team player, works well with everyone,
Multi-task quickly.
Additional Remarks
This department is not major specific, but it does require a motivated, mature and responsible individual who is accountable for his or her decisions. An interview with the Purchasing Supervisor is advised.

Be confident in their ability to properly and professionally handle phone calls from fellow College co-workers and off-campus vendors,
Develop professional interaction with staff from the College and vendors in person,
Handle the transferring and filing of paperwork, whether it be simply mail or confidential invoices and receiving reports,
Learn attention to detail, as this is very important when dealing with the College's bills and paperwork,
Learn how to work as a team and how to distribute various tasks among each other,
Learn and continue to hone time management skills on a daily basis,
Become knowledgeable on a computer due to the exclusive programs that will be used,
Resourcefully research products and services that best fit the College's needs.
