Job Description:
The imaging area is where the designed piece goes for processing to make ready for printing on the press.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Operate film processors,
Mix film processing chemicals,
Prepare flats for plate-making by stripping negatives to masking sheets,
Expose and process offset plates,
Make contact prints, negatives and positives,
Prepare color proofs,
Expose and process Silvermaster plates,
Keep track of inventory for the imaging area,
Clean and maintain equipment,
Sweep, mop, and general cleaning of the imaging room,
Keep track of jobs.
Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Assisting other departments as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
MacIntosh and PC Computer knowledge,
Knowledge of Windows, Quark Express, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher,
Knowledge of film processors, darkroom equipment, plate-makers, etc.,
Ability to pay attention to detail,
General knowledge of the printing industry a plus.

Ability to work well with others,
Ability to take direction.
