Job Description:
The student office assistant in the President’s Office will assist the President's assistants in performing general office duties for the President, and Vice-President.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Proofreading letters,
Typing (on computer and typewriter),
Filing all correspondence in organized, effective manner,
Deliver mail,
Clean the office,
Update donor cards,
Greet visitors and answering the telephone,
Assist with major convocations and board meetings.
Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Organize projects and scrapbooks,
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Possess loyalty to the College, as well as the ability to maintain total confidentiality,
Perform basic office duties such as accurate typing (on typewriter and computer), filing, answering the telephone, greeting visitors, delivering mail, and proofreading letters,
Dependable and prompt
Maintain a high level of initiative, as well as accept responsibility,
Possess a good personality and good public relations/human relations skills. The student must also be able to cooperate with others (students, visitors, and the work supervisor).
Desirable Qualifications:
The ability to reason through a situation if the work supervisor is unavailable.

Learn the appropriate way to greet visitors,
Answer the telephone and take messages with proper office etiquette,
Be able to proofread and type accurately,
Know how to utilize Microsoft Word and Excel,
File all correspondence in organized, effective manner,
Assist with major convocations and Board meetings,
Greet VIP guests at major convocations and Board meetings,
Organize projects and scrapbooks,
Maintain total confidentiality,
Demonstrate a dependable and prompt work ethic,
Accept responsibility and a high level of initiative,
Develop good public relations/human relations skills,
Cooperate with others in a work setting (supervisor and co-workers),
Be able to reason through a situation if the work supervisor is unavailable,
Adhere to scheduled work times -- plan in advance if class schedule interferes,

Properly write business letters and the correct form for letters,
