Job Description:
The Nursing Office student worker will assist the Director and Office Manager in the operations of the Nursing Department. The office is open Monday-Friday from 8 am - 5 pm. We are closed for the summer.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Exhibit dependability, loyalty, honesty, and the ability to respect and maintain confidentiality in various situations,
Assist in the preparation (type, revise, copy, and collate) of reports and programs,
Demonstrate word processing, database/spreadsheet, presentational graphics, and other pertinent computer skills,
Prioritize assigned tasks, professional communication skills, file, update files/databases, proofread, check and deliver mail, and identify needed supplies,
Clean McKibben and Jones Nursing Department offices
Basic Qualifications:
General office skills (information processing, filing, phone, etc.),
Computer knowledge (the ability to use various software applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite).

Ability to work in fast-paced environment,
Assist in CNE.
Learning Objectives:
The student will:
Learn all aspects, policies and procedures of the Nursing Department,
Develop proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint,
Develop professional telephone and office etiquette,
Maintain department inventory,
Develop customer service skills and attitude -- go over and above what is expected to serve and meet people's expectations,
Assist faculty with clinical skills supply preparation,
Develop good interpersonal skills, respectfully interact with co-workers, students, faculty, and staff,
Learn how to keep appropriate matters confidential,
Learn to work independently and as a team,
Adhere to schedule and communicate schedule changes when necessary,
Learn to mentor other students in the nursing program related to coursework and clinical skills.
