Job Description:
The Development Office is open Monday-Friday, 8 am - 5 pm and is closed on school holidays. Student workers will have various clerical responsibilities, including telephone reception, letter writing, filing, data entry, etc. Student workers will communicate with, and occasionally host or provide campus tours for visitors of the College.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Assist in maintaining constituent database,
Clerical work including correspondence, filing, and record keeping,
Computer research,
Answer incoming telephone calls,
Make phone calls to donors expressing appreciation,
Serve as usher at graduation ceremonies in May (attendance required),
Assist with Associates Recognition Dinner in October (attendance required),
Assist with annual Awards Convocation in April (attendance required),
Assist Dean of Development when Officer on Duty – one Saturday each semester.
Secondary duties and responsibilities:
Vacuum, dust, clean windows, water plants, and other general cleaning duties,
Assist with mail preparation in Mail Operations department.
Basic Qualifications:
Good telephone skills,
Dependability, promptness,
Ability to focus on detail – especially with data entry,
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding donor records,
Must be well-groomed and adhere to office dress code,
Pleasant personality.

Ability to work as a team member and assist others in the office.

Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Raiser's Edge,
Be accurate and timely in typing letters and data entry,
Learn to proof his/her work,
Be able to determine the appropriate form letter to use,
Be able to scan and link letters to the appropriate donor and file,
Learn to pay attention to details,
Manage time properly and do assigned jobs without constant supervision,
Develop a good work ethic, adhere to scheduled work times, be on time and stay on task,
Learn to work with others, coworkers and supervisors,
Learn to work as a team and assist others in the office as needed,
Learn the ability to keep appropriate matters confidential,
Be able to work and reason through situations even if the work supervisor is not available.
