Criminal Justice Department

Position Title:

Criminal Justice Student Worker

Required Schedule Flexibility

(1-5 scale with 5 as most flexible): 4

Job Description:

The Criminal Justice Department is open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Perform office tasks for the department: typing, word processing, filing, copying, maintaining records, handling telephone services and messages,
Maintain and care for equipment (computers, furniture, etc.),
Maintain and care for the assigned physical facilities (clean, arrange, keep orderly, etc.),
Prepare correspondence for on-campus information requests and other Criminal Justice related business.

Secondary duties and responsibilities:

Order and maintain inventory and storage,
Perform tasks/special projects as assigned by work supervisor or Criminal Justice faculty,
Answer office phone and take messages,
Make appointments,
Regularly audit Criminal Justice student files for accuracy and completeness,
Check mailroom daily,
Proctor make-up exams,
Take roll and distribute study materials to classes upon absence of faculty,
Assist local law enforcement.

Basic Qualifications:

Ability to stay on task and be a self-motivator,
Dependability, promptness and faithful adherence to the work schedule,
Flexibility in work schedule to cover office hours.

Hard worker,
Self-motivated,
Cooperative,
Organized.
