Position Title:

Athletic Director's Assistant

Required Schedule Flexibility

(1-5 scale with 5 as most flexible): 3

Job Description:

Student workers must be able to work late hours during varsity contests, communicate with media, and have the ability to write articles.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Maintain the Athletic Book Loans: check out books to students and keep records,
Assist with all NAIA submission of paperwork requirements: Champions of Character, drug education, eligibility, participation forms, physical forms, hall of fame,
Assist with game officials' commitments and payments,
Generate travel forms for road trips: off-campus trip forms, food requests from dining hall,
Help with travel: bus, hotel, uniforms, medicine kit,
Keep track of men's basketball items and records,
Help organize hall of fame and athletic banquets,
Game day organization: signs for officials' locker rooms, coolers filled for officials, band and cheerleaders,
Inventory for men's basketball equipment,
Set laundry out and put away in locker room,
Office cleaning.

Basic Qualifications:

Have an interest in sports,
Be able to work nights and weekends,
Ability to write clearly and objectively.

Desirable Qualifications:

Enjoy working as a team member,
Take pride in a job well done.

Learning Objectives:

The student will:
Manage daily office operations such as organizing and filing,
Maintain overall level of cleanliness throughout the office,
Assist Sports Information Department with all games by learning different skills that can be applied during games (i.e. shot clock, scoreboard, etc.),
Assist coaching staff with game day preparations such as placing uniforms in the locker room, packing uniforms for away games, picking up food/drink from the cafeteria, and organizing other items for away games,
Perform inventory and maintain all supplies, and inform coach of any problems,
Effectively use the Internet for research,
Assist in organization and execution of various camps and tournaments,
Effectively fill out purchase requisitions, mileage forms, an and other paperwork,
Assist with grading, entering grades, and other necessary components of CampusWeb related to academics.
