Job Description:
The Admissions Office operates from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, and is the first contact with potential students and their families. The Admissions assistants work extensively with prospective students, from providing information about the College and its programs, to conducting tours for individual and/or groups of prospective students and working with prospective students’ applications/files.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Greet all visitors to the Admissions Office,
Information requests/mailings,
Prospective student tours of campus,
Record and process new applications received,
Record new information/documentation received for applicant files,
Periodic correspondence with applicants regarding file completion,
Answer all calls concerning candidate files,
Auditing of admissions files,
Recording fees and other materials received for accepted students,
Transfer information/files to other offices at appropriate times,
Periodic correspondence with accepted students,
E-mail replies and follow-up,
Schedule recruiter visits to schools and college fairs,
Mailings to high school counselors.
Secondary duties and responsibilities:
General cleaning of the office and office restroom,
Assist, on occasion, the work supervisor and/or dean with special projects,
Help other departments on campus.

Learn the Microsoft Outlook, Jenzabar, and Image Now programs - and attention to detail those programs require,
Develop a customer service mentality - go over and above what is expected to serve the people on and off campus,
Learn how to interact respectfully with co-workers, and promote a positive atmosphere in the Admissions office,
Adherence to schedule/promptness/calling when personal schedule changes would interfere with work schedule,
Continually strive to improve both personally and professionally,
Ability to work independently as well as with a team,
Ability to keep appropriate matters confidential.
