College of the Ozarks will celebrate the Christmas season with a series of campus events for students, faculty, staff and the community. Festivities include a winter theatre production, a combined Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band Christmas concert, a North Pole themed family event at the Ralph Foster Museum, and a look at all of the Student Made Products. The College looks forward to sharing the joy and spirit of the season with the community.

Winter Production

The College of the Ozarks Theatre Department will present “A Jones Theatre Christmas,” featuring “Tiny Tim’s Christmas Carol,” a family-friendly production with caroling and interactive hosts. Performances will be held Dec. 4–6 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 7 at 2:30 p.m. in Jones Auditorium. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and non-College of the Ozarks students, and free for College of the Ozarks students, faculty and staff. Reservations may be made by calling the Theatre Box Office at (417) 690-2626.

The play, directed by theatre professor Josh Williams, is adapted from the Dickens classic by Ken and Jack Ludwig and follows Tiny Tim and his friend Charlotte as they develop a plan involving ghosts and Christmas cheer to help Scrooge find the spirit of the season. College of the Ozarks students built the set and served on the production crew.

Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band Christmas Concert

College of the Ozarks will host the Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band Christmas concert on Friday, Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the Royal Oak Forum at The Keeter Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Kevin Powers, associate professor of music, said the evening will open with the Jazz Ensemble performing jazz arrangements of familiar Christmas carols, including a featured arrangement of “O Holy Night” with high-note trumpet artist Robert Offutt. The Concert Band will close the program with festive selections and patriotic pieces recently performed for Vietnam Veterans.

Santa Stops at the Ralph Foster Museum at College of the Ozarks Santa will visit the Ralph Foster Museum on Saturday, Dec. 6.

Santa Stops at the Ralph Foster Museum

College of the Ozarks will host a North Pole–themed holiday event at the Ralph Foster Museum on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon. The family-friendly event will include writing letters to Santa, making crafts, enjoying cookies and milk, and taking photos with Santa in his Ozark Mountain ride, the Beverly Hillbillies truck.

Tickets are $6 and include access to all event activities and the museum’s three floors of exhibits. Guests are encouraged to share photos from their visit and take part in the event scavenger hunt.

Chapel Choir and Chorale Concert

The College of the Ozarks Chapel Choir and Chorale will present their Christmas concert on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 7:30 p.m. in Williams Memorial Chapel. This special evening will feature beloved Christmas classics and reflections that celebrate the birth of our Savior and the hope He brings to this season. We invite the community to join us for a meaningful time of music and worship.

The College of the Ozarks invites the community to explore festive holiday offerings at its campus shops and production sites this season. Visitors can enjoy a variety of student-made Christmas products, including handcrafted gifts, seasonal treats, and unique decorations.
