The Community Education Program Explore the fall offerings as part of the Community Education Program.

In the Spring of 2025, College of the Ozarks launched its new Community Education Program, inviting members of the community to join the College on a journey of learning, exploration, and personal enrichment. With various course lengths and a wide variety of topics, these non-accredited courses are designed to engage the community in ongoing learning.

“The College is thrilled to offer this program for the community,” said Dr. Sue Head, vice president for cultural activities and institutional advancement. “We would love to bring participants on an exciting adventure with Hard Work U. — learning more about what we do, learning concepts and skills to enrich and enhance their personal lives, and being challenged by great literature and ancient texts for the good of humanity. Our employees — current and retired staff and professors alike — have so much to give. They are thrilled as well to share their knowledge, expertise, and passion for these topics with the general public.”

Participants in the Community Education Program Through the Community Education Program, the joy of lifelong learning is now more accessible than ever.

For some, the program offered a return to the joy of the classroom. For others, it was a chance to explore new ideas, build practical skills, or connect with neighbors in a new way. One participant shared, “Having the opportunity to sit in an intellectual seminar and discuss big ideas and ethics and literary themes — that’s not something there’s a whole lot of space for in my daily life. It was a breath of fresh air.”

Past courses include topics such as Health and Wellness, DIY Chemistry Experiments, Homer’s Odyssey, and Social Media Strategy for Non-profits — just to name a few! Whether you are looking to deepen your understanding of history, develop new skills, or explore your creativity, the Community Education Program offers a welcoming space for learning and growth.
