“Through this work I have increased my professionalism, communication skills, and interpersonal skills. I enjoy working with our supporters and I have learned what it means to be a generous and giving person. I am so grateful for all the individuals who have invested and continue to invest in our worthy mission.”  

Taylor’s journey, steeped in prayer and perseverance, hasn’t always been easy. When she was just eight years old her mother was diagnosed with Grade 4 Glioblastoma, which is a rare and aggressive brain cancer that has a 10% survival rate. Now, 13 years later, her mother is alive and a living miracle. Through this, Taylor and her family, learned a lot about trusting God and loving each other well.  

“Through this challenge my family rallied together and supported one another. We learned to thank God for every moment we are given in this life. We also began to appreciate that life is not promised and to live every day to the fullest!”  

Taylor is living life to the fullest at Hard Work U. In December she traveled to Vietnam through the College’s Patriotic Education Travel Program. Paired with Vietnam Veterans, students traversed the country and walked in the footsteps of the brave men and women who fought so valiantly.  

“The trip was life changing to say the least. History came alive and I was honored to learn from the Veterans first-hand. By the end of the trip, the students and veterans felt like a family.”  

Taylor’s future is bright as she looks to obtain a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.  

“Watching my mom fight cancer for years showed me the power of resilience and the deep importance of both physical and emotional healing. Her journey inspired me to pursue a career where I can help others through their own challenges. I hope to specialize in neurological injuries and work with individuals who have experienced traumatic brain injuries. I look forward to a fulfilling career of bringing hope and healing to others, both physically and mentally.” 

Taylor will graduate in May of 2026.
