The Foreign Language Department offers a major or minor in Spanish. In an ever-shrinking world, knowing another language is more important than ever!
A foreign language major is an excellent combination with other specialties such as business, criminal justice, and hotel and restaurant management. Students majoring in education may also pursue a course of study leading to teaching certification in a foreign language.
Foreign language courses focus on helping students learn to use the languages in practical, real-life, communicative tasks. Students also learn about the cultures of which the languages are an expression.
Students may also take up to two semesters of New Testament Greek and/or Old Testament Hebrew through the Department of Philosophy and Religion. These biblical languages are offered on demand, and may not be offered on a regular basis.
