The following learning resources are offered to students free of charge in order to aid in the learning process.

Career Center

Days and Times: 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday

The Career Center assists in planning and formulating vocational goals. By the use of assessments, the staff can assist in exploring vocational options and deciding academic majors. The Center provides an online resource management system that will help in preparing a cover letter, writing a resume, and networking. The Center sponsors two Career Expos, a Summer Resource Fair, employers' on-campus interviews, professional enhancement seminars, graduate school preparation, direct employer contacts, social media branding, and mock or virtual interviews to develop the soft skills needed to interview professionally. Information on part-time and full-time professional employment and internships is available.

Computer Science - Open Computer Lab

Days and Times: 8am to 11pm Monday through Thursday, 8am to 5pm Friday, 1pm to 3pm on Saturday and Sunday

Computer Science student workers are available to assist students with questions and offer tutoring for Computer Science courses. 

Counseling Center

Days and Times:  9am to 5pm Monday through Friday; Evening hours also available. Services are offered either in-person or via telehealth. Please be flexible.

Location:  Christian Ministries building

You will find the Student Counseling Center provides a variety of objective, nonjudgmental counseling services at no cost to you. The services you receive are the same type you would get visiting a professional counselor or relationship therapist off-campus.

Disability Support

Days and Times:  8am to 5pm Monday through Friday

Engineering Tutoring

Days and Times:  6-9 pm, Monday – Thursday

Location:  White Engineering Computer Lab Room 101 and Collaboration Area

Engineering majors are encouraged to stop by for evening tutoring.

Agriculture has welding tutoring in the Engineering building from 6pm to 8pm on Mondays.

Foreign Language Lab

Days and Times:  During the school day and some evenings

Location:  Jones building 3rd floor Room 303

Students may use any of the four computers to do foreign language work.  Tutoring is also available for those needing extra help with Spanish courses.

Lyons Memorial Library

Days and Times:  7:30am to 10pm Monday through Thursday; 7:30am to 5pm Friday; 9am to 1pm Saturday; 2pm to 10pm Sunday

Lyons Memorial Library supports the curriculum of the College by providing resources in a variety of formats.  Students may take advantage of technology including computers, printers, and WiFi.

Mathematics Assistance Center

Days and Times:

7:30 am to 5:00 pm - Friday;

6:00 pm to 8:00 pm - Sunday

The Math Assistance Center (MAC) is staffed by student workers and are available to assist students with questions and offer tutoring for Mathematics and Physics courses.

The Writing Center

Days and Times:  8am to 7pm Monday through Thursday; 8am to 5pm Friday; 9am to 1pm Saturday; and 1pm to 5pm Sunday.

The Writing Center offers Reader Response Sessions, 30-minute one-on-one sessions between a student and a peer writing assistant that give the student a chance to discuss his or her writing and receive feedback and suggestions.

Tutoring

More Information:  Course Instructor or Faculty Adviser

Students should attend every class and are encouraged to ask questions, to meet with the instructor at the first indication of trouble, and to seek out study groups. Students are assigned a faculty adviser to whom he or she may also go if further guidance is needed.
