SUBJECT: CHORALE SCHEDULES SPRING CONCERT THAT WILL FEATURE ECCLECTIC MIX OF STYLES

By: Morgan Sowell

College of the Ozarks Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Bruce Gerlach, will perform a mixed vocal ensemble Cappella-style Tuesday, April 22, at 8 p.m., at the Newman Recital Hall in the Gittinger Music Center. The group will be accompanied by C of O graduate Kourtney Martin, who majored in music.

The program will feature styles of music such as the Italian Renaissance and music of today. Featured works include: “Hallelujah, Amen,” “Exultate Deo,” “Stomp Your Foot,” “Heilig,” “You cannot Lose My Love” and “Jesus is a Rock.”

“The music is exciting and technically demanding,” says Dr. Gerlach. “The singers have been working very hard to perfect their craft.”

This event is free to the public; seating is first-come, first-served. For more information, please call the College of the Ozarks Music department at (417) 690-2244.
