After we receive your application, we will send you an email which contains login instructions to obtain a list of documents and instructions necessary to complete your application process. 

Your file is considered complete when each item on the list has been received and processed. Other items may be required in special circumstances. You are encouraged to complete your admissions file as soon as possible since admission to College of the Ozarks is quite competitive. Please see our Admissions Process Time Line for important information regarding a target date for completing your admissions file.

First-time students must submit the following:

  • High School Transcript (students should have a gpa of 3.0 and rank in the top half of their graduating class),
  • ACT/SAT Scores (students should obtain our preferred score of 20 on the ACT; 950 on the SAT) - ACT Test Dates,
  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), see the FAFSA Instructions more details,
  • Two reference forms,
  • Interviews are required. An admissions staff member will schedule interviews with qualified candidates after receipt of high school transcript and test scores.

Home Educated First-time students must submit the following:

  • High School Transcript  (must contain the following information, typed)
    • all courses taken,
    • when they were taken (year and term),
    • letter or percentage grade earned (we do not accept pass/fail grades),
    • grade point average (students should have minimum gpa of 3.0),
    • signature of home educator.
  • An official GED score report and certificate will be accepted in lieu of a high school transcript,
  • ACT/SAT Scores (students should obtain our preferred score of 20 on the ACT; 950 on the SAT) - ACT Test Dates,
  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), see FAFSA Instructions more details,
  • Two reference forms,

Transfer Students must submit the following:

College of the Ozarks welcomes applications from transfer students who have earned a minimum college grade point average of 3.0. Transfer students who have completed credits beyond the Associate of Arts Degree level from an accredited institution level may be ineligible for admission. Students who have a bachelor’s degree are not eligible for admission.

Transfer applicants must submit transcripts of all college-level course work even if they do not wish to transfer the credits. Applicants who have grade point averages beneath the College’s standards should include a written explanation for below-standard academic performance. The admission or enrollment of applicants who do not report previous college-level work is subject to revocation.

Transfer courses from regionally accredited institutions with C- grades or above will be accepted by College of the Ozarks provided that they are not vocational or remedial courses.Transfer courses with grades of D and F are counted in figuring cumulative grade point averages but will not count toward C of O graduation requirements.

International Students must submit the following:

The College welcomes applications from international students. Because the College was founded to serve students from the Ozarks region, openings for international students are limited. We have vacancies for approximately 3-6 international students each year, and welcome their unique contributions to our campus life!

After we receive your application, we will send you a list of documents and other items necessary to complete your admissions file.

  • Official College Transcript(s) (if a transfer student),
  • Transfer Student Form (if a transfer student),
  • Two Letters of Recommendation,
  • Educational Background Form or transcript of secondary education,
  • Foreign Financial Certification Form,
  • TOEFL Score (550 paper based; 213 computer based; 79-80 internet based),
  • ACT/SAT Scores will be considered if submitted,
  • Required Interview, (An admissions staff member will schedule interviews with qualified candidates after receipt of transcripts and test scores)
  • Affidavit of Support (available at http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-134.pdf).

Applicant's files are considered complete when each requirement has been received and processed. Once an international student is admitted, the College will issue an I-20 form, required to schedule an appointment for the student visa interview at the United States Embassy. Most international students at College of the Ozarks have an F-1 visa.

Former C of O Students must submit the following:

  • C of O Transcript (obtained by the Admissions Office),
  • Account Clearance (student account must be clear before your application will be processed),
  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA),
  • Dean's Approval (obtained by the Admissions Office).

In some cases, former students may be required to appear for a former student admission hearing. Admissions staff member will contact former student applicants to schedule the hearing if it is required.
