Student Missouri State Teachers Association
The Student Missouri State Teachers Association (S-MSTA) is open to all Elementary and Secondary Education majors and serves as a bridge to your teaching career. It connects you to other education majors at the college and around the state, provides an opportunity for you to network with professional educators, and helps you prepare for a career in education. The group usually meets once per month, and a schedule of meeting dates and times can be obtained from the Education Department. Meetings include guest speakers from the education field, community service projects, and involvement in campus activities such as homecoming. Dr. Frazier and Dr. Keith serve as the sponsors for S-MSTA and encourage all education majors to actively participate in this professional organization.
Kappa Delta Pi
Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education (KDP) is committed to recognizing excellence and fostering mutual cooperation, support, and professional growth for educational professionals. KDP meets jointly with S-MSTA to encourage professional growth and is also involved in service projects and campus activities. Membership in Kappa Delta Pi is by invitation only to education majors who have completed 50+ hours and maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.25. If you meet the qualifications for KDP and have not received an invitation to join, please contact the Education Department at 417-690-2150. Mr. Knight and Ms. Simmons are the co-sponsors for KDP and look forward to your involvement.
