Agriculture Faculty Positions – College of the Ozarks invites applications for multiple full-time positions that include both classroom teaching and managing one of the College’s farms or agriculture-related workstations. There is also opportunity for the right person to provide administrative leadership for the agriculture department’s faculty and staff. Preferred starting date for these positions is spring to summer 2016. All positions require a master’s degree, with doctoral degrees preferred; rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Potential teaching areas include agribusiness, animal science, and livestock management and judging, among others. Potential farm responsibilities include, for example, the College’s dairy and hog farms. The best candidates will have strong classroom teaching skills, the ability to manage student workers effectively and work with other faculty and staff members, and a commitment to hard work in a farm environment.
Successful candidates must embrace the College’s Christ-centered mission and demonstrate excellence in teaching undergraduate students, a commitment to serving as a mentor and positive role model, and an interest in the relationship of agriculture and Christian faith. Keeter Center –Lodge Utility Position - The Keeter Center has an opening for seasonal part-time Lodge Utility position. Duties will include but are not limited to preparing daily housekeeping assignments, manage inventory of supplies, cleaning guest rooms, room inspections, and guest services. Preferred qualifications include good communication skills, a positive attitude, an eye for detail, and relate well with the Academic, Vocational, Christian, Cultural, and Patriotic mission points of the College. The following was posted on August 25, 2015:
Financial Aid Director Position - College of the Ozarks invites applications for a full-time Financial Aid Director. A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required, and a Master’s degree is preferred. Starting date is flexible, but will be no later than January 2, 2016; salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Financial Aid Director reports to the Vice President for Patriotic Activities/Dean of Admissions and manages all student financial aid operations, including, but not limited to, administration of the federal and state aid programs, monitoring satisfactory academic progress, managing student financial aid packages, awarding scholarships, and supervising one full-time employee and seven student workers.
Candidates should have a minimum of three years of financial aid experience in a college/university setting, be technologically driven, experienced with EDExpress, and proficient at delivering student financial aid services online. Experience with PowerFAIDS is preferred. Candidates must be extremely detail oriented and able to meet rigid deadlines in a busy environment, while effectively communicating with peers, parents, and students.
College of the Ozarks is unique, in that it has a Work Education Program in which students work on campus to contribute toward their cost of education (tuition). The remainder of that cost is met with federal/state grants, and institutional scholarships. The College openly discourages debt, and consequently does NOT participate in any federal or private loan programs.
