Student life isn't only about class, work and the residence halls. Many student activities throughout the year make for a fun, busy, energizing and sometimes hectic schedule. Students are able to participate in numerous activities:
If participating in student activities isn't enough to keep you busy, there are plenty of leadership opportunities for those who are able to rise to the challenge. Student Senate offers numerous positions. The Student Alumni Association offers Ambassador opportunities where students serve as a link between current students and alumni. Ambassadors serve in various capacities as leaders on campus in areas of school spirit, traditions, and overall campus involvement. Another opportunity for leadership is the "Moms and Pops" program in Character Camp.
When you need time to wind down from the busy life here, you can find peace and solace at Point Lookout, which overlooks the beautiful Lake Taneycomo. You could also spend some time relaxing by the water wheel near the mill pond at Edwards Mill. Students even run the "loop" around campus to relieve the stresses of day-to-day living.
Most importantly, student life here is centered around the Christian mission of the College. At Hard Work U., we believe it is extremely important to cultivate the Christian growth in each student. We work toward that mission by providing various faith-based groups that meet on a weekly basis such as:
- Baptist Student Union
- InterVarsity Christian Fellowship
- Chi-Alpha
- Catholic Christian Newman Association
- Mu Kappa
We also provide a non-denominational chapel service each Sunday morning. Students are required to attend seven times a semester.
