Appalachian Scholarship
This scholarship fund is intended to assist residents of the Appalachian mountain region pursuing full-time post-secondary education.

Applicants must:
• Be members of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.);
• Be high school graduates or GED recipients;
• Be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S.;
• Be full-time residents of Appalachia;
• Demonstrate financial need.

Preference will be given to undergraduate students.
Nontraditional-age students with no previous college experience are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.
Range of Awards: $200 to $1000 per academic year. Renewal is possible.

National Presbyterian College Scholarship
Deadline: January 31

Applications are available in the Financial Aid Office.

Applicants must:

  • Be an active member of a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) church
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Preparing to enter as a full-time freshman in a participating college or university related to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)
  • A high school senior
  • Provide an official high school transcript confirming a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Take the SAT/ACT exam no later than December 15 of their senior year in high school
  • Write a 500 word essay on an assigned topic
  • Demonstrate financial need by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

KY3 BROADCAST SCHOLARSHIP
KY3 is the leading television station in Springfield, Missouri. We have a keen interest in the excellence of
broadcast education. KY3 has established this scholarship to encourage students of the highest caliber to enter broadcasting as a career and to seek the highest quality education in the field.

KY3 will be awarding two (2), thousand dollar scholarships ($1,000) for the 2010-2011 school year.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in at least 12 hours each semester the scholarship is awarded

Talbots Scholarship Foundation
Talbots Scholarship Foundation will award $180,000 in college scholarships for the 2010 academic year, including up to 10 $15,000 scholarships and one $30,000 scholarship to an extraordinary finalist demonstrating courage, conviction and an insatiable entrepreneurial spirit.

Requirements

  • Be women currently residing in the United States or Canada;
  • Be women who have earned a high school diploma or their GED on or before September 2000;
  • Be enrolled or planning to enroll in a full- or part-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited 2- or 4- year college, university, or vocational-technical school;
  • Be attending the full 2010-11 academic year and receiving a degree no earlier than May 2011; and
  • Have at least two semesters (24 credit hours or more) remaining to complete an undergraduate degree as of the beginning of the 2010 fall academic term.

NPSC offers two programs:

  • The Traditional NPSC Program provides a two-phase, six-year fellowship. Initial support is for two or three years, depending on the employer-sponsor. If the student makes satisfactory progress and continues to meet the conditions of the award, support may continue for a total of up to six years. Students typically apply during their senior year.
     
  • The Dissertation Support Program provides support while the graduate student conducts dissertation research. Students should apply in the year prior to the beginning of their dissertation research program, but not until they can describe their research at least in general terms.
     
  • NPSC welcomes applications from all qualified students, with continued emphasis on recruitment of a diverse pool of female and underrepresented minority applicants.

 


TLMI Scholarship

6 scholarships offered annually to students across the nation
Applicant must :

  • Be a Sophomore or Junior
  • Be a Full-Time Student
  • Have a Major dealing with label and tag manufacturing
    - Management
    - Sales/Marketing
    - Graphic Arts
    - Graphic Design
    - Production
  • Have a 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Send an official transcript
  • Have 3 references from persons who are not family members
  • Send a one page, typed personal essay including:
    - Personal Information about yourself (special circumstances, interests, activities, etc.)
    - Financial circumstances (Include any other financial aid received)
    - Career and/or Educational Goals that relate to the tag and label industry
    - Employment Experience
    - Reasons why you should be chosen

Scholarship renewal is done by sending a letter to the TLMI office stating how the scholarship has impacted the year.

Udall Scholarship

The Udall Foundation provides students with a maximum of $5,000 for tuition, room and board, or other educational expenses.

Applicants must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or permanent resident
  • Be committed to a career related to the environment, OR a Native American or Alaskan Native committed to a career in tribal public policy or Native American health care
  • Be a sophomore or junior, pursuing a bachelor’s or associate’s degree
  • Have a college grade-point average of at least a 3.0
  • Be nominated by Dan Swearengen, the Udall Scholarship faculty representative

U.S. Bank Internet Scholarship Program

U.S. Bank will award forty (40) $1,000 scholarships through a random drawing process. 
Requirements:

  • A high school senior planning to enroll or a current college freshmen, sophomore or junior at an eligible four-year college or university participating in the U.S. Bank No Fee Education Loan Program;
  • Enrolled by September 2010;
