Miscellaneous:

Air fresheners, potpourri, etc. (no open flames of any kind)
Small sofas, couches, or chairs
Area rug (all rooms are carpeted)
Small aquarium for fish (no other pets permitted)

There is a natural tendency for incoming students to want to bring all of their favorite belongings to their new home.  While it is nice to have these items, it is important to remember that space in the residence hall is limited and packing to many non-essentials will only make the room more crowded.  For example, you should bring only the DVD’s watched most often, not your entire video collection.

It is also important to keep in mind there may not be room for all of your clothes in the closets/wardrobes/dressers in the room.  If you know you will make a trip home or your family will be visiting before the seasons change, leave the non-seasonal clothing at home for a later date.  Consider using stackable collapsible storage products to maximize space.

Email
Email is the principal means of communication between faculty, staff, administration & students.  Students are required to set up an e-mail account and must check it daily as they will be held accountable for all official communication of administrative policies, faculty instructions and campus information including assignments, registration materials, announcements, etc.
