In preparation for their chess meets, S of O students practice one to three hours each week. “There are currently 15 active chess members, 11 of whom participated in this tournament,” said Chess Team sponsor Layne Wilks. “S of O students are looking forward to more tournaments in the coming winter and spring.”
Other schools that participated in the tournament include: New Covenant Academy (NCA), Bradleyville, Chadwick, Everton, Hurley and Niangua. NCA placed first and Bradleyville third.
