College of the Ozarks ranks No. 7 in 25 Most-Selective 4-Year Colleges, private institutions
POINT LOOKOUT, MO. — College of the Ozarks was ranked by The Chronicle of Higher Education No. 7 in the 25 Most-Selective 4-Year Colleges, within private institutions, based on fall 2014 data.
According to The Chronicle, the 25 most-selective private nonprofit institutions all had much higher yield rates, or percentages of accepted students who enrolled, than did such institutions over all. In contrast, more than half of the 20 most-selective public institutions had yield rates that fell below the 32-percent rate for public colleges over all.
“We are honored that a very high percentage of students to whom we offer admission take the College up on the once in a lifetime opportunity that Hard Work U. provides,” said Dr. Marci Linson, vice president for patriotic activities and dean of admissions. “Students appreciate the opportunity to graduate debt free, while gaining valuable work experience.”
Private institutions ranked with College of the Ozarks included Stanford University (No. 1), Harvard University (No. 2), Yale University (No. 3), Columbia University (No. 4), Princeton University (No. 5), and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (No. 6).
College of the Ozarks has been recognized as one of the Great Colleges to Work For by The Chronicle of Higher Education. The College also received recognition from Forbes as the No. 4 Top Best Value College; from U.S. News & World Report as the No. 1 Best Value Regional College in the Midwest, No. 4 Best Regional College in the Midwest, and one of 10 Colleges Where Graduates Have the Least Debt; from Money magazine as the No. 3 Most Affordable Private College; and from The Princeton Review as one of The Best 381 Colleges, 2017 edition.
