SUBJECT: OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER
By: Tyler Lopez
Every year, College of the Ozarks participates in Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a project of Samaritan’s Purse, and collects shoeboxes filled with gifts to send to children living in poverty-stricken or war-torn countries worldwide. Individuals interested in participating in OCC may drop off their gift-filled shoebox(es) Nov. 12-19, 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Mon. – Sat., and noon – 4 p.m. on Sunday at Williams Memorial Chapel parking lot on campus.
Shoeboxes can contain things such as toothpaste, toys and school supplies. Instructions on what to or what not to include in a shoebox may be found at www.samaritanspurse.org. These small boxes may seem insignificant, but may be the only gift a needy child in another country may ever receive.
For more information on drop-off hours, please call Christian Ministries at 417-690-3446.
