SUBJECT: THEATRE PRODUCTION “NOISES OFF” TO BE PERFORMED AT JONES THEATRE
By: Haley Jones
The College of the Ozarks Jones Theatre Department will present “Noises Off,” on October 12, 13 and 15 at 7:30 p.m., and October 14, at 2:30 p.m., in the Jones Auditorium.
The play, by Michael Frayn, takes a fond look at the follies of theatre folk, whose susceptibility to out-of-control egos, memory loss and relationships turn every performance into a high-risk adventure.
This comedy-within-a-comedy captures a touring theatre troupe’s production in three stages: dress rehearsal, the opening performance and a performance toward the end of the run. Each performance is portrayed from behind the scenes, progressing from flubbed lines and missed cues in the dress rehearsal to mounting friction between cast members in the final performance. Brimming with slapstick comedy, “Noises Off” is a backstage farce of slamming doors and flying sardines.
Tickets are required to attend this production. Adult tickets are $10, senior citizens and non-C of O students are $8, and children are $6. College Associates are admitted free upon presentation of their Associates Card. Associate Guest tickets are $5.
To make reservations, please call the Jones Theatre Department at (417)-690-2626.
