Strong Second Half Leads to Win
The College of the Ozarks' Bobcats matched up against Friends University of Wichita, Kansas on Tuesday evening at the Keeter Gymnasium in Pt. Lookout. The first half was neck-and-neck with eight lead changes, but the second half found the Bobcats taking charge and gradually pulling away to secure a 94-71 win!
Nathane Simniok led the Bobcats in scoring with 26, hitting 10 of 12 field goal attempts and 6 of 6 free throws. In addition, Simniok brought down six rebounds and posted four steals. Also contributing significantly to the Bobcats' big win were Derek Daniels with 19 points, including 4 of 5 from three-point range, and Pete Leonard with 16 points and 6 rebounds.
Senior guard Joe Mitchell of Friends University scored 30 points and recorded 5 steals. However, even with Colton Rausch's 14 points and Blake Wilson's 10, the Falcons could not mount a strong run, as they were unable to hold the Bobcats' defensively throughout the second half.
The Bobcats will travel this weekend to Oklahoma City to play Mid-America Christian University and hopefully continue their winning ways. The Bobcats' record now stands at 3-0.
