Winfrey Business Alumni Chapter Meeting 11/5/05

Rodney Arnold, in the absence of President Kevin Riley, opened the meeting at 11:00 a.m.

Gabe Miller, Operations/Network manager for College of the Ozarks, provided a demonstration of the new Team Board partially funded by the Beulah I Winfrey Business Alumni Chapter. The capabilities of the system were very much appreciated by the Plaster School of Business faculty. Mr. Miller also showed those attending the new web page dedicated to Dr. Winfrey. Input was requested and the final design of the page will be presented when completed and approved by the CofO administration.

The Treasurer’s report indicated a balance of $605.00 in the account. This balance was after $2,000.00 had been used to support the technology purchase of a Team Board for room 211 in the Plaster Business building. There were no other expenditures.

Nominations for Secretary/Treasurer were accepted. Lindon Newberry was nominated and elected by acclamation. Brian Carson moves to President and Robert Wheeler moves to Vice President for this year.

In new business, a proposal was made to increase the yearly dues to $10.00 instead of $5.00. In addition, to be consistent with the Alumni Association, the proposal included a provision to allow a lifetime membership for a contribution of $200.00. The proposal passed unanimously.

Everyone at the meeting was encouraged to contact those who might be interested in joining.
