Beulah I Winfrey Business Alumni Chapter Meeting 11/3/07
Kevin Riley opened the meeting at 11:00 a.m. in the Plaster School of Business Room 211. Riley welcomed all attendees and the minutes from the 2006 meeting were submitted and approved. The treasurer’s report showed a fund balance of $2,550.71. There was no other old business.
In new business, nominations for secretary/treasurer were accepted. Outgoing president Robert Wheeler agreed to serve as secretary/treasurer. He was nominated and elected by acclamation. Lindon Newberry moves to president and Kevin Riley moves to vice president for this year. Riley updated those attending on the activities and accomplishments of the BUS/PBL group, Students In Free Enterprise and the Plaster School of Business.
The Beulah I Winfrey Alumni Chapter approved funding of up to $500.00 to business clubs and organizations for student travel in this academic year.
Everyone present was encouraged to provide membership information to other business and accounting alumni from College (School) of the Ozarks. Suggestions for increasing membership in the business alumni group included asking the Alumni Association on campus for contact information and having area Chapter Representatives for the Alumni Association make contacts during their meetings. Another suggestion was to utilize sites such Classmates.com to post current information and notices regarding activities being held by the Plaster School of Business and increase networking opportunities.
A list of current members can be seen at the Colleges Website (www.cofo.edu) and linking to Alumni and specifically Business Alumni.
The yearly dues remain $10.00 or a lifetime membership can be obtained for a one-time contribution of $200.00. Anyone can submit an application on-line and/or send dues to Kevin Riley (checks payable to College of the Ozarks) at the following address: College of the Ozarks, P.O. Box 17, Point Lookout, MO 65726.
The meeting adjourned at 11:35 a.m.
