It is always surprising to find out that prospective students think a career in computing involves sitting in front of a computer eight to ten hours a day. Nothing could be further from the truth! There are many creative, fun, and interesting jobs and careers in computing fields. According to CNN Money Magazine’s report on the "best jobs in America," the No. 1 "Best Job in America" in 2006 was software engineering, ahead even of finance, medicine, real estate, and law. The number of software engineering jobs is expected to grow by 46% in the next ten years.
