COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, MAY 9, 2010

Campusweb & C of O Email Address: Throughout the spring semester you will receive graduation information through your CofO email address, so be sure to check your mail often. Your CofO email address will remain in effect until June 30, 2010. Your Campusweb account will remain accessible to you as long as the college maintains the software. As alumni, you will continue to have access to the Campusweb.

Graduation fee: A fee of $50.00 will be charged to your student account to cover a portion of the costs associated with graduation ceremonies and events (page 42, College Catalog). This fee can be paid in person or by sending a check to the Cashier’s office in the Berger Building. You may also pay your fee online through CASHNet. Your fee is due by April 23, 2010. Please make check payable to the College of the Ozarks.

Excused absences: If you are unable to attend Baccalaureate or Commencement exercises or rehearsal, you must submit your request to be absent, in writing, addressed to the Dean of the College, and approved by March 31, 2010. You will still be charged the full Graduation fee if we do not hear from you by the requested date. Graduates excused by the March deadline will have a reduced fee of $35.00.

Program information: You will receive program information through your C of O email address. Make sure you monitor your email. You will be asked to check your degree (BS or BA), major(s), minor(s), hometown, and graduation honors for accuracy.

Caps and gowns: Caps and gowns and honor medals, if applicable, will be distributed in the College Center Lounge (outside the Cat’s Den) on Thursday and Friday, April 29 & 30, 2010, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  

Rehearsal: Rehearsal for Baccalaureate and Commencement will be at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8th, in the Keeter Gymnasium. Caps and gowns must be worn during the Saturday dress rehearsal. Photographs will be taken so wear dark pants/skirts and appropriate shoes, because your feet and legs will show in the individual pictures.

Baccalaureate: Baccalaureate exercises will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 9th in Keeter Gymnasium. Seniors will line up at 10:30 a.m. Seating for your parents and guests will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. 

Luncheon: A complimentary buffet luncheon will be available for all graduates and guests at the College Center between the Baccalaureate and Commencement services.

Commencement: Commencement exercises will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 9th, in the Field House. Seniors will line up at 1:30 p.m. Seating for your parents and guests are on a first-come, first-serve basis; however, each graduate will be allowed four tickets for downstairs seating of guests. Additional guests will be directed to the overflow seating located upstairs. There is no cost involved for the tickets. Tickets will be distributed with your cap and gown.

Reception: A reception will be held immediately following commencement on the Kelce West lawn located directly across from the main entrance of the Gymnasium.

Diplomas: You will receive your diploma cover during the commencement ceremony. The actual diplomas may be picked up in the office of the Dean of the College the week of June 7th. If your diploma is not picked up by June 14, 2010, it will be mailed provided you have no financial or other holds on your account. No diplomas or transcripts will be released until completion of all obligations to the college. Please make sure we have your current mailing address on file.

Transcripts: Once your degree has been conferred, the Registrar’s office will contact you concerning your final transcript. After you have verified your course information, you may order additional transcripts online through your Campusweb account (Campus Resource section of the Student page). You may also order online at www.cofo.edu/transcript.asp.

Announcements: Announcements may be ordered from the College Press, Herff-Jones at www.herffjones.com/college/ or from CB Graduation Announcements, by phone (800-433-0296), or on the Internet at www.CBGrad.com. Ordering graduation announcements is an option for seniors. You may use any business of your choice.

Class Rings & Diploma Frames: Class rings and diploma frames are available through Herff Jones. Catalogs are available at the C of O Bookstore. A representative will be on campus during the spring cap and gown distribution to answer questions and show samples.  

2009-2010 Yearbooks: The yearbook will be available in late September or early October, 2010. You may pick up a yearbook (which will include a DVD) at the yearbook office in the College Center or order through the mail by sending your name, address, and ID number along with $5.00 for postage and handling to the yearbook office. Make checks payable to the College of the Ozarks, address: The Phoenix, College of the Ozarks, P.O. Box 17, Point Lookout, MO 65726.
