a Social Work emphasis or a General emphasis. The major
objectives are for students to: 1) use a sociological
perspective in understanding the influence of culture
and social structure on human behavior; 2) explore theories,
research, and helping skills in sociology and social
work; 3) prepare students for a variety of career settings.
A final departmental exit exam is to be passed by all
majors at a grade level of C or above before graduation.
