Mass Communications:

college of the ozarks.
the program Mass
Communications has a variety of emphases through
which to follow your interests, develop your abilities and channel
your talents. Studies include hands-on media activities.
Department organizations allow you to practice what
you learn while having fun. And top-notch internships
give you the experience with compatible companies.
When you graduate, you should have the skills necessary
to gain an entry-level media position or to continue
your education in graduate school.

- Film C of O basketball games for viewing on a professional TV station
- Record other events for campus departments and offices
- Write and produce videos and sound recordings
- Help record music CD's and other individual projects
- Assist with live radio productions at KCOZ, the college radio station
- Write and produce commercials
- Cover news events on campus and in the community
- Interview interesting, important people such as entertainers and
politicians
- Produce class newspapers and magazines
- Plan and execute campus-web events
- Create and write your own newspaper, magazine or book
mass communications club Be
a part of an annual campus favorite, Lip Sync. Club-sponsored, department
and club produced,
Lip Sync in an evening
of faculty and student group lip sync performances
to favorite songs. But that's not all. These vignettes
are held together by on-stage hosts and original
video spots including creative, comedic commercials.
It plays to a standing room only crowd every spring.
